went in for a zombie movie, came out with existential sadness. what else would i expect from a boyle/garland zombie film? loved everything this was about, the experimental cinematography (sometimes you can really tell that it was shot on iphones but i did not care. this makes cinema more accessible and im all about that), societal collapse and rebuilding, isolation, culty vibes, and continued lore building around the rage virus. i will absolutely take more of these and i will not complain. but i need more powerful women please.

I do not appreciate the insertion of heteronormativity and the impression that gru and his children need to add a wife/mother into their lives to feel truly fulfilled in my despicable me universe!! I do however appreciate the where them girls at dance montage.

appreciated that this was respectful to the victims, there’s a huge phenomenon of glamorizing serial killers right now and do I think john wayne gacy needed anymore publicity? no, but seeing the victims names and photos and hearing their stories was important.
