Dracula

This has aged really great for an almost 100 year-old movie. One of the Universal horror classics of the 1930s, Tod Browning’s Dracula features an unforgettable performance from Bela Lugosi as the eponymous Count Dracula. Dwight Frye almost outshines Lugosi however in an absolutely incredible performance as Renfield, easily the best I’ve ever seen in many of the Dracula adaptations that have been put to screen. Probably the best old horror movie I’ve seen.

I've never seen a Bruce Lee movie before. The best way I can describe Enter the Dragon, one of the most well known Bruce Lee films, is as a James Bond movie with excellently-choreographed fights and an almost video-game quality to the story, as we watch Lee sneak around the island and fight his opponents. Just a great time, and an absolute breeze at 102 minutes in runtime. Would definitely recommend for people who like action movies and are interested to see some martial arts prowess in their films.

Super Mario Bros.
★★½ Watched

It might not have been absolutely necessary to watch this live-action Mario movie in anticipation of this year’s animated version, but I have no regrets about my decision. Not as bad as I expected, though at the same time unquestionably mediocre, Super Mario Bros has absolutely no resemblance to the storyline or world of the original Mario video games. Instead, it’s a wild hallucinogenic romp through parallel dimensions of humans descended from dinosaurs, goomba patrolmen with shrivelled reptilian heads, and a…

Kramer vs. Kramer

This is considered a classic for a reason. Was absolutely blown away by the performances from Meryl Streep and Dustin Hoffman in this. Hoffman's run from the late '60s through to the '70s might be one of the best ever. The Graduate, Midnight Cowboy, All the President's Men, Marathon Man ... he doesn't miss, and he delivers extraordinary performances in each. I think this might be my favourite Dustin Hoffman performance of all time though — it's just so human. I didn't realise how little Streep is in this movie, but when she appears, she makes her presence known. Just an absolute classic.
