TV Thoughts of the Week
LOST: I'm fairly commmitted to the idea that I wouldn't hate you so much if you just killed off the Oceanic 6. Or made it so...once you were off the island, you were off the island. I really don't consider the Oceanic 6 to be integral anymore.
Way back when, they wanted the cast to be pretty recyclable (they were going to kill Jack off in the pilot after all), and then they worked themselves into a corner. But hey, fast forward four years and you've managed to create a dynamic that works. I love Faraday. I really do. I like what's going on w/ the island these days. I don't want Angsty Kate, Angsty Jack, Stupid Hurley, Sidelined Sayid, Vengeful Sun, and Formerly Ugly Aaron back. Is there another? And screw Ben--I can't even follow what the hell they're setting up in their time loops. I'm not even trying anymore.
Suffice to say, I love Desmond. I love Penny. I love everything that Faraday touches. Unfortunately, I'm predicting that it's back to Oceanic 6 last next week and guess what LOST: YOU CAN GO FRAK YOURSELF.
Battlestar Galactica: If you love me and don't watch BSG, you'll go enter yourself http://www.scifi.com/battlestar/sweepstakes/ here for my sake. I've already done my 10 entries. BSG is awesome. And when I say awesome, I don't mean sweet, cool, really radical dude (even though it is all those things). I mean it is awe inducing. I mean, it is so good that watching it alone does not stop me from fist pumping or cheering. Well, I didn't cheer. But man did it hurt to keep it inside.
This week: UTTER AMAZINGNESS. First episode, very good. First time it's really made me not sure what to think. Second episode, ok, not terribly great, but gods, we did get Adama and Roslin in bed together so FRAKKING YES SO SAY WE ALL. This week:
EPIC. PS: Tigh better not be dead. That has to be a lie. Has to. But then again, I can't see how they both would've survived a grenade blast :(.
Overall, just a stellar episode. Captured the feeling of one of my all time favorites, "Valley of Darkness," quite well. Utter ship pandemonium, Kara and Lee kicking ass and taking names, Adama and Tigh demonstrating their skills. Man, not only is Adama an oratory genius, he can still shoot guns and beat up people just as well as the next person.
Also: Adama Roslin makeout scene was one of the best things I've seen in a long time. SO GOOD.
So that's that. I don't like these air two episodes then hiatus things that The Office and Desperate Housewives like to do. It's not funny guys.
