Will Peck serves as Head of Digital Assets at WisdomTree. In this role, he oversees WisdomTree’s crypto, stablecoin and real world asset (RWA) tokenization initiatives. These initiatives include WisdomTree Prime, a direct-to-retail app, and WisdomTree Connect, a B2B and B2B2C platform. Previously, he served as Head of Strategy and Emerging Technologies for WisdomTree. Prior to WisdomTree, he worked in investment banking for Bank of America Merrill Lynch covering a range of financial services companies. He graduated cum laude from Harvard University.

From Rails to Reserves: WisdomTree’s Integrated Stablecoin Strategy

It does indeed feel like stablecoin summer. The GENIUS Act has passed the Senate. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent recently cited projections that the stablecoin market could grow from $252 billion as of July 18, 2025 to $3.7 trillion by decade’s end.¹ Circle’s strong IPO performance shows that public markets increasingly view stablecoins and real world asset (RWA) tokenization as long-term structural trends. Traditional payments players have been building stablecoin capabilities as well with news out of such firms as Visa, Mastercard and Fiserv.

The implication is clear: stablecoins are evolving beyond niche use in crypto trading and DeFi. Others have pointed out how they’ve served a retail-level Eurodollar-like function in emerging markets.² To fulfill their potential, they must expand beyond these into payments, capital markets, and core financial infrastructure – becoming the internet-native dollar. That evolution is already underway, and it represents a massive opportunity.

Today, WisdomTree is at the forefront of this shift. We’re building a full-stack stablecoin business to meet growing demand from both retail and institutional users. With the stablecoin market projected to grow 15x in the coming years, WisdomTree is positioned to deliver meaningful value to this market.³

At the core of our strategy are two foundational products: USDW, our U.S. dollar stablecoin, and WTGXX, our tokenized U.S. government money market fund. Together, they serve complementary functions — USDW for transactions, and WTGXX for yield. On top of these, we’ve built services like our stablecoin interoperability layer, enabling clients to on- and off-ramp using stablecoins like USDC. The combination of these tokens and these services are designed to power investing, reserves, and treasury operations across a range of real world applications.

USDW: Purpose-Built for Tokenized Finance
WisdomTree has quietly built and issued its own stablecoin: USDW.

USDW is issued by WisdomTree Digital Trust Company, LLC, a New York–chartered limited purpose trust company. Within WisdomTree Prime, our retail app, USDW functions as the “dollar rails,” enabling seamless movement of value. Including WTGXX, we have thirteen tokenized funds that provide access to real world exposures in an onchain format, many of which pay regular dividends in U.S. dollars – investors can elect to receive these dividends in USDW.

Note: USDW is currently in the process of being rebranded from WUSD.

For years, fiat-backed stablecoins were dominated by two names – Tether’s USDT and Circle’s USDC. While some other more decentralized alternatives have gained traction, most other entrants have either had to wind down or otherwise faded into obscurity, failing to differentiate and attract assets away from the incumbents that built a network effect.

The market is changing now and there is an opportunity for select additional stablecoins – those that provide real world utility and solve for specific market needs – to gain traction. We’re already seeing this play out with white-label issuers and orchestration platforms helping large corporates incorporate stablecoins into their business and treasury operations.

In a similar vein, USDW is a transactional asset for tokenized finance, enabling value to move seamlessly across onchain exposures like WTGXX, equities, fixed income, asset allocation strategies, and more. For example, eligible fund investors can elect to receive their dividends in USDW (instead of U.S. dollars) to easily rebalance or re-invest. They may also choose an automated dividend reinvestment program (DRIP) where available.

Today, USDW operates on the Stellar blockchain within WisdomTree Prime.⁴ Over time, we will expand USDW to other blockchains and additional user groups – unlocking a wider range of use cases and accelerating adoption.

While we will continue to support other stablecoins, USDW allows us to gain and pass through efficiencies across the full stack – from backend infrastructure to blockchain-level design. In doing so, we’re adding functionality that will ultimately deliver a fundamentally better investing experience.

WTGXX: A Reserve Asset for Modern Stablecoins
WTGXX has seen strong growth so far in 2025, growing from about $12 million to $486 million as of July 18, 2025. Contributing to this AUM growth has been adoption of WTGXX as a reserve asset for stablecoin issuers.

Both the GENIUS Act and New York Department of Financial Services guidance specify high standards for reserve assets – standards that many alternatives don’t meet. As a 1940 Act-registered money market fund, WTGXX can qualify as a reserve asset under these standards. We’ve heard what the market is looking for, and we are continuing to add functionality to meet these demands – peer-to-peer transferability, 24/7 interest accrual, and expanded primary market order windows. And we are actively working on the ability to trade WTGXX in real-time 24/7/365 against stablecoins, giving issuers the confidence to manage liquidity around the clock.

WTGXX is designed to be a reserve asset for the next generation of stablecoins: onchain, compliant, and available 24/7.

Stablecoin Interoperability Layer
As an ETF sponsor, we’ve always believed that exiting a position should be as seamless as entering it. In digital assets, that means giving users multiple, flexible ways to move value on- and off-platform using the stablecoins they already hold.

That’s why we’ve built a robust interoperability layer for stablecoins – one that supports seamless deposits and withdrawals across six public blockchains: Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, Ethereum, Optimism, and Stellar.

We’ve already processed over $200 million in institutional USDC subscriptions into WisdomTree tokenized funds. And starting in July, retail users on WisdomTree Prime will be able to deposit and withdraw with USDC and PYUSD directly from their self-custody or third party wallets.

These on- and off-ramps are a key part of delivering a better investing experience: faster money movement, lower costs, and the flexibility to operate 24/7.

Treasury Management for Stablecoin-Native Businesses
As more businesses use stablecoins for daily operations, they’ll need better treasury management tools. Stablecoin-native firms don’t want to bridge back to banks for yield.  WTGXX gives them an onchain and yield-bearing asset that is a cash equivalent under GAAP. While some stablecoins offer “rewards” as a pseudo-yield, those models won’t scale across every use case like WTGXX.

The combination of the services described above allows WisdomTree to offer compelling treasury management solutions for stablecoin-native businesses. We publish APIs and partner with platforms to integrate WTGXX directly into business workflows.

A Platform That Scales with the Market
These features – investing rails, reserve solutions, treasury tools – aren’t siloed. They reinforce one another. As adoption grows, we gain network effects that make every part of the system more valuable.

With USDW as the transaction layer and WTGXX as the yield layer, we are not just building for one narrow role in the stablecoin market. With USDW, WTGXX, a growing suite of tokenized exposures, on- and off-ramps and other services, all delivered via APIs, WisdomTree is building an integrated platform to serve this ecosystem across multiple dimensions.

As stablecoin use cases expand, we believe WisdomTree is uniquely positioned to serve this growing market – across investing, reserve management, and treasury management. This is not a side bet. It’s a core pillar of our digital assets strategy.

Definitions:

Onchain:
“Onchain” refers to any data or activity, such as cryptocurrency transactions or smart contract executions, that is directly recorded, processed, and verified on the main blockchain ledger. On-chain activities are characterized by their transparency, security, and permanence, as they are validated by the decentralized network and become immutable once added to the blockchain. Examples include sending Bitcoin between wallets or deploying a smart contract on a platform like Ethereum.

Offchain:
In the context of blockchain and cryptocurrency, off-chain refers to transactions or processes that occur outside the main blockchain network. These transactions are not recorded directly on the blockchain’s public ledger, often utilizing secondary networks or layers to facilitate faster and cheaper transactions.

Wrappers:
In finance, “wrappers” refer to investment products or legal structures that enclose underlying assets to provide specific benefits, most often related to taxes or administration. The term can describe two distinct concepts: tax-efficient products and wrap accounts.

Tokens:
In blockchain and crypto, a token is a digital asset created and managed on an existing blockchain (like Ethereum) using smart contracts, rather than having its own independent blockchain like a native cryptocurrency (e.g., Bitcoin). Tokens can represent a wide range of things, including ownership rights, access to a service, a specific asset (digital or real-world), or value, enabling various functions within blockchain ecosystems.

Blockchain:
A blockchain is an open, distributed ledger that digitally records transactions in a verifiable and immutable (i.e., permanent) way using cryptography. Cryptography is a method of storing and transmitting data in a particular form so that only those for whom it is intended can read and process it. A blockchain stores transaction data in “blocks” that are cryptographically linked together to form a “chain” that grows as new blocks of data are added. Blockchain technology is the underlying technology of cryptocurrencies and allows tokenized assets to be accessed in a digital wallet.

Tokenization:
The process of creating a digital representation of an asset (e.g., U.S. dollars or money market funds) using a token recorded on a blockchain. The token generally serves as a record of ownership to the asset. Tokenization of an asset does not change the nature of an asset.

Soulbound NFT:
A soulbound NFT is a non-transferable token permanently tied to a wallet, used to represent identity, credentials, or achievements onchain. Unlike regular NFTs, it can’t be sold or traded, making it a verifiable and enduring marker of reputation or membership.

Digital assets (e.g., bitcoin and ether) are considered to be highly speculative, involve a high degree of risk and have the potential for loss of the entire investment. Digital assets are subject to a number of risks, including price volatility.  Transactions in digital assets may be irreversible, and accordingly, losses due to fraudulent or accidental transactions may not be recoverable. Legislative and regulatory changes or actions at the state, federal, or international level may adversely affect the use, transfer, exchange and value of virtual currency.

There are risks associated with investing, including possible loss of principal.

A blockchain is an open, distributed ledger that digitally records transactions in a verifiable and immutable (i.e., permanent) way using cryptography. A distributed ledger is a database in which data is stored in a decentralized manner. Cryptography is a method of storing and transmitting data in a particular form so that only those for whom it is intended can read and process it. A blockchain stores transaction data in “blocks” that are linked together to form a “chain”, and hence the name blockchain. Blockchain technology is a relatively new and untested technology, with little regulation. Blockchain systems could be vulnerable to fraud, particularly if a significant minority of participants colluded to defraud the rest. Potential risks also include vulnerability to theft, or inaccessibility, and future regulatory developments could affect its viability.

There are risks associated with investing, including possible loss of principal. Because the Funds are new, they have limited performance history. Blockchain technology is a relatively new and untested technology, with little regulation. Potential risks include vulnerability to fraud, theft, or inaccessibility, and future regulatory developments effect its viability. Funds focusing investments on certain sectors increases its vulnerability to any single economic or regulatory development, which may result in greater share price volatility. U.S. Treasury obligations may provide relatively lower returns than those of other securities. Changes to the financial condition or credit rating of the U.S. government may cause the value to decline. TIPS can provide a hedge against inflation, as the inflation adjustment feature helps preserve the purchasing power of the investment. Because of this inflation adjustment feature, inflation protected bonds typically have lower yields than conventional fixed rate bonds and will likely decline in price during periods of deflation, which could result in losses. Securities with floating rates can be less sensitive to interest rate changes than securities with fixed interest rates, but may decline in value and negatively impact a Fund’s NAV, particularly if changes in prevailing interest rates are more frequent or sudden than the rate changes for floating rates notes, which can only occur periodically. Fixed income securities are subject to interest rate, credit, inflation, and reinvestment risks. Generally, as interest rates rise, the value of fixed-income securities falls. Cybersecurity attacks affecting a Fund’s third-party service providers, App, blockchain network, or the issuers of securities in which the Fund invests may subject the Fund to many of the same risks associated with direct cybersecurity breaches.
