Lycia went harsh and layered with side project Bleak. "In Flickers" goes the other way - fewer layers and a gentler vibe overall. "A Failure" is Lycia's best dance track since "The Rain". This is Lycia through blown-out speakers. The usual melancholy gives way to anger and angst. ("Everyday until I die / I must burn and feed the machine.") njordmannen I think it is fitting to write a review of the Triptych as a whole piece.
Having listened to it back to back a few times now, I really love this project. The experimentation and samples are great, like The Hag of Beara vs the poet, Nocturnal Field Song & Snow Spirits to name a few highlights.
