    by Misþyrming
    supported by
    Ippocalyptica thumbnail
Ippocalyptica It was never a question of if, but only when, I would buy a masterfully-produced live album featuring many of Misþyrming’s and Sól án varma’s best songs. My biggest live music goal in 2024 is to see Misþyrming play live at Ascension later this year, and while this is a bit out of my hands at the moment, it would be a true bucket list moment for me to do so. Now that I can hear how well they play their incredible material in a live setting, I respect the band even more. Top notch stuff! Favorite track: Hof.
    David Fischer thumbnail
David Fischer Yule is early, my friends. Með hamri í lifandi formi came out of nowhere and contains both my favourite pieces of music by Misþyrming as well as Sól án varma. Unlike Lady Yoma, I haven't seen them live unfortunately but that flaw shall be corrected as soon as possible! The setlist is great and the performance insane, energetic and as infectuous as the black plague when it first broke out. Seventy minutes of unbridled, ecstatic madness. Thanks, Gentlemen!
@Yoma: pure envy! Favorite track: Engin vorkunn.

hammerstein4711 Love this band - looking forward to see them live at last!
    Favorite track: Afbrigði VII.

    YomaBarr First 😛
Hehe I saw them when? a month ago? the venue was so crowded I wasn't able to throw my fist in the air, wonder how the pit didn't burst the walls open, D.G. was soaking wet like straight from the shower, the place smelt of burnt amp cable insulation and it was madness like this here. Thanks for this and for that gig, guys!

  3. Interregnum: O próbie wiary i jarzmie zwątpienia
    by Mānbryne
    supported by
    David Fischer thumbnail
David Fischer Interregnum, being the perfect continuation of Heilsweg, delivers excellent, no-bullshit black metal on an even higher level! Instrumentally, these songs are extremely captivating but, as with its predecessor, I am completely and utterly blown away by the vocals: savage and explosive, yet almost meditative – like a desperate, forlorn prayer to an indifferent, merciless, sadistic entity. A swirling torrent of cascading insanity. Both Mānbryne records will be on heavy rotation this year. Stunning! Favorite track: Pierwszy kamień.
    sashavonkarl74 thumbnail
sashavonkarl74 @mourner totally agree, this is grabbing you and doesn’t let go until you’re completely part of it in absolute unity. Fantastic album!!

Forever grateful to @Yoma for this suggestion 🤘🏼🤘🏼 Favorite track: Pierwszy kamień.
    Bart thumbnail
Bart Epic black metal that draws you in and is hypnotic at times. "Po Trupach Ku Niebu" and "Pierwszy Kamień" are easily the album highlights. Favorite track: Po trupach ku niebu.

MetalJazzVinyl Hands down one of my favorite albums - can’t recommend enough. Favorite track: Cycle of Decay.
    sashavonkarl74 thumbnail
sashavonkarl74 Gaerea's first release of "Unsettling Whispers" was in 2018, and since, they dared define a "black metal" niche of their own, they dared to walk a new path and stir shit up a bit in the realm of BM, this album is a masterpiece and a milestone proving that it can be done, provided the band can pull it off, and they did, oh they did! Gloomy, dark, post-BM sludgy whatever, it's Gaerea, and this one belongs in my BC collection, the end. Favorite track: Absent.

Urso X Deeply emotional and beautifully written and performed, a worthy successor to Relatos De Angustia. Favorite track: La Encarnación de Todos los Miedos.
    kowaikage2 thumbnail
kowaikage2 Anyone who likes bands like Infestus(Germany) with maybe a little Emperor, Swallow The Sun, or Svartidauði mixed in should give this a listen. Every aspect of this is very high quality. Highly Recommended! Favorite track: When True Loneliness is Experienced.
    Lorenzo thumbnail
Lorenzo Emotionally destructive black metal dually wielding tumultuous dissonant and depressive edges. It is an interesting juxtaposition between chaotic sounds that do not really correlate, but still work to amplify one another. The instrumentation, mostly guitars, keeps up a melody that continually adds beauty to the darkened tracks.

The use of clean vocals (at least for metal) are what make the album all the more harrowing, as they add the pertinent personal anguish to the dread filled lyrics.

sashavonkarl74 Another great recommendation from Black Metal Promotion YT channel, this Finnish BM outfit released here a grandiose opus of the black arts! The album cover is just a start, a great one, and the content really is a masterpiece of frosty and fierce melodic black metal with outstanding high-pitched guitars, with great tempo and build-ups, a must have FFO Urn, Watain & Satanic Torment. Favorite track: Wolves Cry for a Final Battle.
