GMurphrygian I've been on the Chicago Noise tour recently. If you like some noise and hardcore in your sludge, this record is a little slice of heaven.

Metallurgical Fire I wanted to avoid this band completely. Then I listened. Death Mask is one of the most potent musical experiences you can have. It’s actually the most intense and focused extreme metal album I’ve ever listened to. Universal Death Church is their fun, catchy, progressive album. It’s underrated. This is like the best coke you’ve ever had, and I hate using that example because I don’t recommend hard drugs to anybody. Favorite track: Negative Birth.

Grimmrobe A disgusting, depraved, and perverted mountain of bile and sludge that seeps into the Earth and defiles it to no end.

An absolute classic. Favorite track: Possession Prayer.

Kings of Castille The latest chapter documenting the slow descent into, well…. Hell. A place where chugging guitars and tormented vocals are the soundtrack.

p0pr0ck3t This album fills me with dread and hopelessness which begins to fester, curdle, and finally crystallize into pure rage. Dark, crushing riffs backed up by an incredible vocal performance. Favorite track: Gravis.

Urso X Deliberate, seething, and heavy as a neutron star, this gravity well of a record perfectly mirrors my inner landscape atm. All-consuming!!

PS — A special shoutout to MSW’s vocals: this album's chuggy heft is (rightfully) getting lots of attention, but his distinctive delivery perfectly conveys the message and aesthetic. Favorite track: Gravis.

wanderlustcalliope This is a really cool experience. The story behind this album brings a further mysterious and interesting vibe to the experience. Additionally, the cd feels like the correct way to listen, in your bedroom. I love it. Favorite track: D>E>A>T>H>M>E>T>A>L.

RyooYamada The fact that it was made by some teenage kids is mind blowing Favorite track: Sodium Chloride.

StrengthWithin Not a bad track on it. I’ve been a fan of this album since it dropped in the 90s Favorite track: Tank (Mk.I).

Sid Old school death metal done right. Bolt Thrower are my go-tos for some heavy old school sounded death metal.

What I really appreciate about this release is that is doesn't stray too far from the IVth Crusade while making some tweaks to improve sound production and writing catchier riffs. I find myself humming along to their songs while at the office.

Highly recommended! Favorite track: Remembrance.
