blackenedhalo Artistically and musically it is an absolute gem of progressive black/doom/heavy metal. This is a new peak of Darkthrone and a well deserved 100%.
    Wolfskopf thumbnail
Wolfskopf Along with a few of the latest releases, this album takes me back to the spirit of Panzerfaust and the days when metal was all heavy and we didn't quite know what to call those other more creepy and extreme bands. The atmopsphere of Eternal Hails is truly impeccable, a journey through space and time.
    Sergei thumbnail
Sergei Darkthrone at their best, creating magical sounds using the standard arsenal without needing any gimmicks or bragging with technical skills.

blackenedhalo The more I listen to it, the more I like it. While the album does not reach the heights of Eternal Hails, it is definitely better than Astral Fortress, but is it better than It Beckons Us All? Pity that every song contains some uninspiring riffs which we have already heard like a thousand times before, because there is also a lot of unique parts. But in general a very enjoyable album. But for Satan's sake, Fenriz, if you want to sing, then take some lessons, because your singing is attrocious.
    Favorite track: Siberian Thaw.

willthepill11 Killer tone, vibrato and riffs from one of the best metal guitarists around these days! Keep the tracks comin' Brandon!
    Bill Fritz thumbnail
Bill Fritz This is a perfect example of what good metal riffs are supposed to sound like. Tight, groovy, and of course heavy!

CthulhuSnares Absolutely beautiful work done here. I have really fallen in love with The Black Dahlia Murders sound and to have something like this is such an appreciated bonus. I really hope that Brandon Ellis will release an album of instrumental work like this one. Very well done as always. Thank you
