    Ted Hemsley thumbnail
Ted Hemsley I'm into my 6th decade of loving music now. it's not unusual to come across younger bands/artists using older stuff as inspiration or plagiarism; it's often fun. this is different. it's got a freshness and originality which is delightful and hugely impressive. I'm hearing everything from Lou Reed to nick Drake and Donovan. I love the spare and spacey mix as well. brilliant. well done 👍
    Sumilumi thumbnail
Sumilumi Stumbled by this lovely work, it had my ear immediate.

Great songs true and good. Nods to connie nick and canterbury with Nashville resolve though never too far with plenty pure.

This Album has me start to end no friction, no fatigue, no bull just great songs

Thank you Spencer, band and production. Beautiful work. More please 🙏

idiedforloveat3am As Little Richard, approximately, said about Jimi Hendrix, "the music makes my big toe shoot-up in my boot." Heathen Axe have chopped all digits. It's time to go home, Ricky. (Favorite's Infected.) Favorite track: INFECTED.

ericsublett I have adored Ichiko’s music for years now, happy to own a physical. This is my favorite release of her’s. This entire album is so beautiful. Some of the most fragile & comforting singing/music you can experience. Favorite track: mazamun.

Old James It's not often you hear music so rooted in tradition, yet so contemporary fresh. Skifflin'! Favorite track: Omie Wise.
    matthew lisle thumbnail
matthew lisle I've got a strong feeling about this record. There's a long live session on YouTube that gives you an indication that's it's some ancient, deep down, darkness that gonna get pressed. Excited? Yeah man! I may even wander into the woods with this one, and not in a sex-pest way either.

    tpace thumbnail
tpace A side of the Collective that tickles my special area. This album's mission statement, if you will, is a more earthly delivery. The delightful approach towards the early 70's-like Grateful Dead / New Riders style with tremendous pedal steel, patient, textured keyboards, incredible secondary guitar juxtapositions, well played electric mando, violin and other exotic instruments. I have such appreciation to this music. It's all inclusive and not marred by any restraints.

Mike B. Favorite track: Raga for Jerry G.
    sidhipangea thumbnail
sidhipangea A fine studio recording that has a slightly more light and positive feel. On Raga for Jerry G you can almost feel the band connecting with Garcia across the aeons. This album should have been a commercial succes and breakthrough for the band. Wishfull thinking on my part. Favorite track: Raga for Jerry G.
