Favorite track: The kobolds horde.
    Geigudr thumbnail
Geigudr This album was the one to get me fully addicted to dungeon synth. Love the distinctive sound from Kobold's music that could easily be the soundtrack from some retro dungeon crawler game. Favorite track: Escape from the Evil Confraternity.
    Dumb mmmn thumbnail
Dumb mmmn is it worth it? I've heard the olde legends and fantastical stories about the Lost Talisman.. I still don't think it's a good idea to enter that cave..

youneverasked Fantastic dark synthwave album. It hits hard and heavy and the melodies stick with you long after you're done listening. I first heard some of it as part of a video game soundtrack and immediately needed to seek out the artist. Favorite track: Astrid (feat. Street Cleaner).

palehorse666 blood boiling, heart stopping, brutal synth madness only for the strong. Favorite track: Claire.
    MagicFace thumbnail
MagicFace I ran across this album while listening to a DANCE WITH THE DEAD playlist, I’m incredibly happy I did. I fell in love with Daniela, and the voice drowning away. So amazing. Favorite track: Daniela.

Berserker79 Cascade is such a strong opening track: dark, unsuspectingly dancey and powerful like the roar of a great waterfall that drowns out all other noise, a perfect introduction to the album as a whole. Favorite track: Cascade.
    badoum thumbnail
badoum Occams Laser dropping banger after banger. As a synthwave enjoyer I feel blessed in this first half of 2026. Favorite track: Undertow.
    palehorse666 thumbnail
palehorse666 I didn't think the next one would be so soon. regardless, the energy on this one is wild and intense. in typical style, Occams Laser rends and sunders spirits in twain. a welcome entry to the series that feels like it's building up to an apocalyptic finish. Favorite track: Cascade.

Xtra Happy I've seen MBR twice before live and both times were such a thrill ride. Immediately from the Ocean Loaders show intro with the C64 visual backdrop you know you're in for a good time.

Glad to finally have a full live album (I've been reliant on the couple of videos of full sets on MBR's YouTube for some time now, which I'd also still recommend). Still mad to me they do the VIRUS.DOS medley in full (it'd be a tall order to ask for something like 33MHz or CLUSTER 777...but here's to hoping haha). Favorite track: VIRUS.DOS (Live in Budapest).
    fakeghostpirate thumbnail
fakeghostpirate I bought this initially because I'm a completionist and can't live without owning an MBR album, however... this turned out to be so much better than I expected. Live albums usually don't hit me that hard, but something about this one is just extremely impressive and incredible. Even if you own all of these songs already, it's worth buying this album. Favorite track: ANSI.SYS (Live in Berlin).

were-jaguar Seeing MBR in Portland was an experience I'll never forget. I never thought it would be true, but there I was---seeing MBR play live!!!!! AMAZING!!!
