bmurator Greek Atmospheric Black / Gothic Metal. Fantastic & even better than their last offering! Very intense & love the vocals here! Putting it all together creates some very special atmospheres indeed... :) FFO Ewigkeit & the like! Thanks HMW! Recommended! Favorite track: Shattered Hearts Under Burning Skies.

Urso X When this opened with crying, my first thought was, “Oh god, here we go”, but the *instant* those drums and ravaged vocals kicked in, I knew we were in for a treat.

As Yoma alluded, there appears to be a lot more codes than supporters atm, so be sure to grab one! (Check the earlier messages.)

PS — This just gets better & better the longer it goes. Also, I second Bruno’s request for the lyrics :) Favorite track: Коли Поля Стануть Червоними.
    bmurator thumbnail
bmurator Ukrainian Atmospheric Black Metal. A sonic assault & a formidably agressive album... :) Thundering drums & riffs that perfectly balance melodic & melancholic sections. The last track (When the Fields Turn Red) is sung in Ukrainian I believe & is considerably faster & rawer than the others - love it! I would love to read the lyrics of this oeuvre! Thanks Molh! Recommended! Favorite track: Коли Поля Стануть Червоними.

YomaBarr Steppes are gone... but there's all loneliness of the steppe in this. Plus some mountain thunderstorms too. Exquisite Ukrainian atmospheric BM.

Folks, there should be a bunch of codes on their page still. Go grab.

aelia I didn’t listen to a second of this before buying. Since Ugliness came out, I’ve been dying for more. Now I’m dead…or would it be alive? Whatever. The point is, this is one of my favorite Bandcamp discoveries and I’d do terrible things for a physical copy of this or Ugliness. Does it exist? After listening, I believe they’ve outdone themselves! 🥹

After another run through, I wouldn’t say I like it more than their previous album, but still a solid release. Maybe just a little more “accessible”.

Jarak Yet another solid album I may not have been aware of if it weren't for the Black Metal Promotion channel on YouTube. I happily listened to this one a bunch of times lately, which seems like a clear sign I should shell out for it :)
    sashavonkarl74 thumbnail
sashavonkarl74 Issfenn + Ossuaire = Orbysse? ok by me, when the result is greater than the sum of the "parts". Another gem from Québec, this EP is a debut release for this "super-group" and I can't ask for more since this is very fresh, but one can hope... "Dissonant Harmony" fits the atmosphere very well indeed, the guitar is omni present and creates a daunting wall of sound, almost oppressive, but the keyb/synth and vocal chorus chants in the back are a plus (second track). Favorite track: Résonance II : Necrothurgya.

Erzonius Great album by Lijkschouwer! Good production and intense sound :-) Favorite track: Irredeemable.
    Urso X thumbnail
Urso X This post-black stunner completely had me from its opening notes. As tomazp said, it’s hard to pin down exactly what makes Lijkschouwer so compelling. Rich atmospheres? Haunting melodic underpinnings? Perfect balance between raw and polished production? Probably all of the above and then some. All I know for certain is that this album remains in heavy rotation and has quickly become one of my favourite records in the atmo/post genres. Very highly recommended. Favorite track: Colours of Woe.
    tomazp thumbnail
tomazp Despite a few weeks of listening to this often multiple times a day, I can't put my finger on what exactly makes it great. Is it sludgeoned black? Is it blackened death? Regardless, a standout album in a standout month. Favorite track: Irredeemable.

Urso X When Yoma mentions Crust-level sincerity, I know to pay attention.

This guy’s records go from strength to strength, with each release a step up from the previous. Thanks for the discovery, Yoma!

YomaBarr First 🙂 Bought without listening. Wahnfried doesn't fail.

edit: by gaws, this guy's getting better and better. Plus that Crust (the band) sincerity level.

    my absolute pleasure, Urso 🙂

YomaBarr A match made in he...ll.
    H.L. thumbnail
H.L. OERHEKS play raw yet atmospheric underground black metal featuring epic song lengths. I believe this unpolished sound is entirely intentional. The concept works well, too; it frequently conjures a mysterious atmosphere, and—at their best—the songs feel intense and dynamic, with quiet passages or spoken-word sections providing welcome variety. The opener doesn't quite resonate with me yet, but "Goden op de Heuvel" is a dark masterpiece. Favorite track: Goden op de Heuvel.

Grêle One of the most soothing black metal piece I've ever heard.
Nothing too fancy here : straightforward bass/drums/guitars/vocals playing majestic and well crafted melancholic chord progressions, which help me making peace with my feelings and make despair a little more bearable.
Also a rare example of bm album with a "modern sound" that I enjoy : the mix feels truly warm and lively.
    bmurator thumbnail
bmurator German Black Metal. As mz11 already very succinctly (much better than anything my oh so logorrheic self could come up with!) put it: This is a masterpiece! I think any comparison to other projects would be unfair as these guys very much go their own way with little or no negotiations... :) The entire album is a beauty from start to end & end to start as well because I just hit repeat & so will you... :) No favourites, I really couldn't! Highly recommended!!!
    YomaBarr thumbnail
YomaBarr Sorry I've been waiting so long with this, Asarhaddon. I didn't think you would top Reysa so easily. And yet you went and did.

p.s. i just listened to this following the lyrics and these tied my mind in a knot. And this low end... [melts and drips]. What an album. Favorite track: Ein letzter Frühling.

whack Blackened post-hardcore with powerful vocals and lyrical imagery of ecological and civilizational despair, where a person vainly searches for strength, solace, and redemption amid a dying landscape. I had to have this in my collection! Favorite track: OLJA.

    kuuraparta Such a unique energy!
    Abrasive & urgent.

Don't need to know the genre names to enjoy this one. Can't wait to see them live.

JesperBuhl Svarta Havet just played a hell of a show in Copenhagen! Love the hardcore vibes, pitch black sentiments and leftist politics of this exciting band. Favorite track: REGNET.
