  1. Weighing Souls With Sand (2018 James Plotkin remaster)
    by The Angelic Process
    supported by
    PRKR thumbnail
PRKR An album I can only describe as wave after wave of emotional devastation, every vocal being an outburst or cry of pure defeat. Beautiful experience throughout, cannot recommend enough. Favorite track: The Resonance Of Goodbye (2018).
    krotix thumbnail
krotix Interesting, I am familiar with Sunn0 and gsybe. This is ambient metal which for many is an oxymoron.

periods of shifting sounds and alternately with crushing metallic mayhem. Favorite track: How To Built A Time Machine (2018).
    Alexander Pugachev thumbnail
Alexander Pugachev Both the magnum opus and the swan song of one-of-a-kind band with the most heartbreaking story. Absolute melancholy in all its glory. Favorite track: Million Year Summer (2018).

    laliatte thumbnail
laliatte This is so satisfyingly and seamlessly varied and feels like being carried along, floating, through a dream (and intermittent nightmares).

Probably my favorite album of 2025 -- hard to pick a favorite song, but the title track is great at showcasing most of the album's range. Other favorites are Saran Wrapped Cash, LADIES' NIGHT, bedrot, and I Have a Key to Your House. Favorite track: CAMGIRL.
    localgobby_ thumbnail
localgobby_ CAMGIRL is a fucking masterpiece. Couldn't be happier to be a bostonian rn. Favorite track: CAMGIRL.
    Chuck Nugget thumbnail
Chuck Nugget My album of the year for 2025. Perfectly captures the melancholy of this (gestures broadly at everything). Favorite track: bedrot.

    frogem thumbnail
frogem This whole record is one of those that slowly open up with each subsequent listening. The stories and themes go deep and make this one of the best things I've listened to in recent history. I wish I could pick more than one track, but Featherweight Kid hits very close to home for me.
    Favorite track: Featherweight Kid.
    stexvxn thumbnail
stexvxn After listening and relistening to this album (then relistening again— and again) I've had to come back and change my favourite track. i just couldn't sit with picking any single one over the rest. absolutely incredible, unrelenting, dark, magnificent album. this band is fucking magic
    Kieran/Etz thumbnail
Kieran/Etz A masterful execution of disturbance, melancholy, and conceptual introspection. Crippling Alcoholism has GOT be one of the most promising underground rock bands in the scene, and is an absolute must for anybody remotely interested in unsettling music.

"Love in your eyes and blood in your mouth; you kill them, you kill your own trauma."
    Favorite track: Featherweight Kid.

    by Angine de Poitrine

    Summer thumbnail
Summer Angine de Poitrine, brings new fun and life into prog rock in both presentation and sound. I think if you like Cassiopeia you'll like them. Alternatively if you're transgender you will probably like them as well. Favorite track: Ababa Hotel.
    sassychicken17 thumbnail
sassychicken17 This album breaks my brain in the best of ways. From the innovative microtonal sounds to the time signature shifts, my mind and body are fully engaged with every track. Bandcamp has the audacity to force me to choose exactly one favorite song, but they are all great tracks! Favorite track: Ababa Hotel.

orkghoul She's already got a great discography of genre defying experimental albums under her belt, but this album is special. A culmination of such unique ideas that you won't hear anything like this anywhere else. Some of her most wild yet most accessible work yet, phenomenal Favorite track: The Plaice.
    great_kahuna thumbnail
great_kahuna An inventive, mind-blowing, courageous, and heart-wrenching album. I can't stop myself from listening again and again Favorite track: Love From Survivors.
    Brent Davis thumbnail
Brent Davis Otay:Onii is entirely new to me...

I wasn't prepared for how intense, how exceptional an album Love Is In The Shit would prove to be - beautiful, unnerving, quirky -- experimental, challenging, yet highly listenable alt-pop.

✌️♥️🤘🇿🇦 Favorite track: Tears Won't Tell.
