  1. Alone in a World of Wounds
    by Steve Von Till
    supported by
    zionengine thumbnail
zionengine This hits me as more relaxed, a little "warmer" than Von Till's previous albums. If his earlier work offered a means to endure the darkness, these songs suggest that we can find peace if we stop clawing blindly for daylight. Favorite track: Calling Down The Darkness.

  3. Lay Down The Sun
    by Unmother
    supported by
    Nocturnal Egg (Jordan) thumbnail
Favorite track: Crown of Stars.
    Der Brecher thumbnail
Der Brecher Mean and fast stuff. I really enjoy it.
    Urso X thumbnail
Urso X The vocals on this work together so beautifully. Vicious yet understated and exquisitely produced-to-task, this album just hits the bullseye in every way for me. Fantastic! Favorite track: Empress.

  4. Tenebris Nox Immortuae
    by Apocalyptic Leaders
    supported by
    Urso X thumbnail
Urso X AL has always been an act worthy of attention, but something shifted with Destructive Rage and Theory of Death that has come to fruition here, to my ears at least. As much as I love experimental and avant-garde metal, I equally respect more traditional approaches, and this is pure, unpretentious, one-man DIY black metal at its best. Favorite track: Executor of Sorrow.
    bmurator thumbnail
bmurator Greek Black Metal with elements of Speed & Thrash as well. A one man, Kostas B., project. I totally agree with Urso! This is Kostas doing what he loves & having an enormous amount of fun at the same time & it shows & it comes through the music in spades... :) "Tenebris Nox Immortuae" or "Dark Night of the Undead" is another top notch BM by Kostas & maybe even his best yet! Thanks Kostas! No faves! Highly recommended!!!

regroupAndStrategize Nothing like Dystopia but I love it all the same. This is my favourite JF release. Favorite track: Baptized by Fire.
    StrengthWithin thumbnail
StrengthWithin I had never heard of these guys until I caught them live opening for Mortiferum and Primitive Man. They destroyed the place. I’ve never seen a more violent pit in a smaller area. Side Note: How Dave does brutal vocals and drums at the same time is total anomaly.

Palmless Prayer / Mass Murder Refrain Part.3 Palmless Prayer / Mass Murder Refrain Part.3
    supported by
    J. Wright Reviews thumbnail
    J. Wright Reviews This album is a slow-burning, five-part neoclassical suite that progresses through a bittersweet, wordless story. MONO themselves don't even enter the picture until part 3, which is the turning point of the album, and they create a glorious finale in part 5. This album probably isn't for everyone but even so, it's a refined, elegant example of Taka's philosophy on music. Like watching a candle burn in the night as you reflect on your mistakes and your growth from them. Favorite track: Palmless Prayer / Mass Murder Refrain Part.5.
