    Anarchy Man McGee thumbnail
Anarchy Man McGee I believe this is the only Opeth album with no tracks under 10 minutes (excluding Eternal Soul Torture). Every track is worth that time though. Meaty riffs, Maiden-esque guitar harmonization, and haunting spectral interludes abound. Favorite track: Black Rose Immortal.
    ARYAN VIKING thumbnail
ARYAN VIKING I have to check all over Bandcamp for the best of metal I like so that is what I do. It does no honor to the performers or to myself unless I purchase the music. I like the sound of the songs.

poopgurgler What at first registers as roughness-around-the-edges ages into medieval charm. What a fun and precisely-performed record.

telurienne The crown jewel of black metal Favorite track: Age of Excuse II.
    bmurator thumbnail
bmurator I will not say my usual of who & what they are - everybody knows Mgla! I should have bought this years ago but I missed it because - yes... I really am that useless :| This is a totally epic & classic album that I cannot get enough of & has very few equals, except maybe their previous! Mgla are in a class of their own & they demonstrate this here once again in each & every song! Highly recommended!!!

  4. Vittra (Re-issue 2023)
    by Naglfar
    supported by
    Obsidian One thumbnail
Obsidian One Another solid melodic black metal album from Sweden. Diabolical also has some catchy and memorable riffs, my favorite release by Naglfar.

sashavonkarl74 Much like "Diabolical", Naglfar's magnificent album, "Vittra" is also too often underrated and overlooked. When speaking about melodic BM, Dissection's Storm is brought up, but rarely these guys, yet they produced some of the best melodic black metal, ever. "Diabolical" remains my all-time favorite, but this one was also re-mastered by Dan "The Man" Swanö, and it's gold. It also includes a bonus track (12th Rising - demo version) which is my favorite in "Diabolical". A must-have, period. Favorite track: Through The Midnight Spheres.

Alice M. Edit more than a year later:
A more or less perfect album (and no, I don’t say that in every comment), despite the daring structure. The first track alone takes you on a real trip, and the transitions are nice as hell. Naming a favorite track would be an insult to this rock-solid triptych.

I’m not good with names, so to me this is “the great album with the dead horse on the cover”.
    elhater thumbnail
elhater Just a handful of black metal artists get to accomplish what we can call a "master piece". In this album, we can found one of those. It is remarkable how the sutile complexity and the utter beauty on this album work together. I got lucky and I buyed the last copy of this jewel.
Those who are looking for a refreshing not yet extravagant approach to black metal, I completely recomend Jord och aska, beleive me, you will have no regrets. Favorite track: Sänk mig i tystnad.
    Landon thumbnail
Landon Compelling and solid atmospheric black metal with a strong pagan feel. This album features satisfying clean and harsh vocals, great clean guitar work, and layered distorted guitars. The drums have a good amount of variety. A masterfully crafted melodic theme permeates the entirety of this record, bringing a remarkable sense of unity to the listening experience. Amazing!
