sashavonkarl74 Folk / Viking melodeath bands are flourishing everywhere as it seems that it’s a trendy style that pleases with enchanting melodies, tales of the North and Viking myths and glory, so how can yet another band stand out as original and differentiate? It’s a tough question that Vansind addresses well in their full length album. I’m honestly impressed with the clean vocals provided by (I assume) Line. The songs are also well written and different enough to keep things interesting. Danish Eluveitie🫶 Favorite track: Blót.

H.L. Folk metal is often far too cheesy and cheerful for my taste, but VANSIND are a surprising exception. Of course, bagpipes and flutes are quite prominent, but the growls and powerful female vocals maintain a sufficient level of intensity and seriousness. After several listens, a few melodic hits emerge that are catchy yet consistently enjoyable. Examples include "Det Største Offer," "Blodhævn," and "I Yggdrasils Skygge." Favorite track: Det Største Offer.

Vožd Vladan This EP has all the things you want and need from a folk metal band. From great guitar work and melodies that carry the song, to catchy, powerful choruses, great orchestration and folk elements as well as two contrasted but fitting vocal styles.
