Nic Brown Antenna returns to Pinkman with an EP of rough-edged analogue house which would be relatively unremarkable were it not for the gorgeous quicksilver melodies which adorn each track's chunky drums. My personal favourite is "When I Read My Book" which features a monotone female vocal sample amidst its jittery synth twinkles, but all three tracks have enough plus points to make the EP worth purchasing. Fun but not flashy. Favorite track: When I Read My Book.

yourcolleague Discovered while listening to "It Came From The 80's" Vol.8 .
Which, last time I checked, wasn't available anymore. So I had to pick this one up.
    El_Cuervo thumbnail
El_Cuervo Arguably my favourite Power Glove track (it competes with Hunter).

Punchy and immediate. The 'beat' (I'm unfamiliar with electronic music terminology) has such an awesome groove and I can't help but rock out every time it begins.
    CheZ Collins thumbnail
CheZ Collins I love the way this sounds. It has that dark underground 80's vibe I was looking for. Such a badass track!
    The Ace thumbnail
The Ace Picture yourself driving down the highway at midnight, surrounded by silence on the way to a serious encounter you know you're gonna win, that's why I like this one.

Sludge Mouf Yet another album I’m addicted to. This is definitely one of my favorite NWOTHM releases. It reminds me of being a teenager and discovering Iron Maiden. Love the sci-fi themes. Favorite track: Foreverman.
    Iván Delgado thumbnail

Jim Tetlow After a friend's Facebook post on Higuma, I felt compelled to investigate their solo projects and other related works. Holy Origin came first. It's a thing of utter slowburning beauty, meticulously crafted to quietly weave its spell upon you. I need to hear Forever Falling Toward The Sky now... Favorite track: Pale Lips.

    J. Wukotich thumbnail
    J. Wukotich Absolutely brilliant work! Extremely high quality Doom, with a Goth-like croon throughout. Reminds me a great deal of Brenden Perry from Dead Can Dance. Incredible album! Favorite track: Sadhu.
    Steve Rodger thumbnail
Steve Rodger Sumokem’s new release oozes with the confidence that can only be generated by a bad who are musically comfortable in their collective skins. Absolutely my Download Of The Week... Favorite track: Sadhu.
    Nillekees thumbnail
Nillekees Right - so after four proper spins I am ready to testify:
This might well be the most daring, daunting, rounded album of 2020. Luring guitar sounds all over the place, strong solos (again), wild yet unagitated drumming and of course (again) great singing. This means work, make no mistakes, but absolutely rewarding. Doom-Tool, if you're into comparisons. Strong! Favorite track: Sadhu.
