Void Worship Primitive black metal with a sufficiently dark atmosphere. Raw shit, sometimes haunting, sometimes surprisingly catchy. Love the production. This is black metal for me. It also has riffs aplenty! Favorite track: I Will Crush To Marrow This Crow Of Ill.
_no_body Wickedness in its primevil form. Thoughtful song structure, memorable riffs, beautiful musical phrasing. When I found this it rocketed to the top of my list. Fav black metal album of all time. Favorite track: A Myrmex Omen.
colapsonervioso This is simply one of the best BM albums of the 2010's IMO! I've owned this since 2012 (in the form of the Profound Lore Records PFL-091 release) and was curious about this remastered version. It does NOT disappoint! Compared to the previous release I believe this offers more clarity, especially to the treble and bass, and although a bit more compressed (about 2-3 dB less DR), I think it's more easily approachable. stoneja Even with everything that's come to pass (and all that's not), you've still gotta feel at least a little awestruck in the face of good ol' fashioned E-vil. When it continues to inspire addictively raw, foundational BM at this level of achievement. Symphonic keys and earworm flourishes in support of throwback bangers sporting tremolo riffs-upon-riffs-upon-riffs: sure, Nächtlich didn't get here first—but they sure as hell go all the way there. Ungodly good time. Wicked catchy. BM AOTY.

bloodybook What a perfect ending to the series. After all the pain of 5 & 6, and then the total emptiness of this album, the penultimate track is like releasing a pressure valve. It feels as euphoric as “Jailbreak” off of Foley Artist, an ending I felt could never be matched. But this is also less perfect, the whole album a concerted effort to reach such a high and then falling again and again. The last couple second of track 11 feel like a gutpunch, but I don’t think I’d want it any other way. Cuts deep. Favorite track: DEDGDEDCDEDGDEOEGECEGHGCGOGCTCOCHCOTOHOTOHTHTHTHT.
