  1. Vinland

    Egg Wizard thumbnail
Egg Wizard Imagine the movie Midsommar as a comedy. Playful, majestic, goofy, intriguing, unique. Favorite track: Untitled II.
    shame-ress thumbnail
shame-ress Borg is the younger cousin of Kebnekajse - vernacular folk music sifted through a modern framework. In this case, it's dungeon synth, giving the genre one of its very few fresh breaths of air. Favorite track: Rain song.
    Meatbreak thumbnail
Meatbreak Another deliriously magickal encounter with the high priests of Borgland. There are many euphoric highpoints along this album - albeit snared as it is, with several dark little twists in its path - but nonesomuch as that final, climactic track.

Another incredbile feat of otherworldiness. Favorite track: Eldorado (kind of).

  2. Medieval Dreams
    by Borg

    Daniel Daniel thumbnail
Daniel Daniel The atmospheric quality to this one really brings the sound to another level. I always appreciate Borg's whimsical side juxtaposed in the rest of the palette of emotions on display. Lovely!
    Dave Aftandilian thumbnail
Dave Aftandilian Like all the best music, Borg’s medieval folk/dungeon synth rewards both distracted and focused attention. Listening feels like eavesdropping on a slightly creepy festival staged in a tiny Dark Ages-era town on the edge of a vast, black forest. I love the occasional goofiness, but also the uneasy darkness hidden just beneath the surface of the tunes; the momentary joy that makes a lifetime of toil and suffering worthwhile.

Mandolintower Pure medieval goodness. One of those albums where just a few seconds in you know you hit pay dirt. Favorite track: Pt.2 The Dancing Forest.

    Destructa thumbnail
Destructa In the emerging spring, Borg grows less adventurous and more idyllic. Lively medieval-ish arrangements. And the peasants rejoice, Huzzah! Favorite track: Blomstertid 4 / Gånglåt.
    Jonah of The Knife thumbnail
Jonah of The Knife Did you like the Dunces and Dragon episode of SpongeBob?

Then you will love this album.
    Wzrd thumbnail
Wzrd I’m a simple Borg. When I see a new Borg album, resistance is futile.

    dynocyboponk thumbnail
dynocyboponk Gives the feeling of being uncomfortably close to a dirty band of bards performing at a dingy tavern, and every moment of it is lovely. Favorite track: Del 3 - Strövtåg i djupskog.
    captainmusic thumbnail
captainmusic As grimy, archaic, and haunted as the age that inspired it. An immediate favourite. Favorite track: Del 3 - Strövtåg i djupskog.
    secretshop thumbnail
secretshop Its fantastically mystical. I use every album of Borg while running D&D campaigns near woodlands, forests, or farmlands. Never been happier to hear another album was released.
    Dave Aftandilian thumbnail
Dave Aftandilian Unique, creepy-jaunty medieval dungeon synth played on period instruments. Truly the music of frolicsome nightmares. Decrepit abandoned farmhouses with fallen roofs lean crazily as they are slowly pulled apart by tendrils of creeping weeds. Tiny redcap gnomes dance giggling around a poisoned well. Lovely voices call to you from the deep forest, sultry and suggestive, and before you know it you are hopelessly lost, a fading shadow amidst the rising darkness.
