positronicping After inducting you into his dark realm with the intro track, Nuno unleashes both diabolical blackened death barrels across this EP. The sound is immense (those drums!!), and because of Conduit's mastery of dynamics, the immensity envelops you. Perfection. Favorite track: Resonance Mantra.
    bmurator thumbnail
bmurator Portuguese Blackened Death Metal. Fantastically dark in every way! Love *all* the vocals... :) I have had this on rotation since I received it which means I definitely want & *need* more please! If this is just the beginning then there are no limits to where this new project can go & I look forward to being here at every step... :) Thanks Sérgio! Highly recommended!!! Favorite track: Conduit to a Threshold.

    Nocturnal Egg (Jordan) thumbnail
Favorite track: Journey Across the Sea.
    Aziter The Black thumbnail
Aziter The Black A visceral, raw Midnight Odyssey experience I can't get enough of. I wish there were more tracks of his like these. There is a haunting doom yet a beauty about this music I can't let go. Favorite track: Spirit of the Winter Mountain.
    naughtynubies thumbnail
naughtynubies I love this album, especially as a part of the evolution of such an amazing artist. It also came with the booklet signed by Dis Pater in gold ink, and beautiful etchings on the cd ;D Favorite track: Journey Across the Sea.

    Metallurgical Fire thumbnail
Metallurgical Fire If you haven’t picked this up yet, then you haven’t heard Molecular Entanglement. Listen to it now and do the right thing. Acausal Intrusion is criminally underrated. Favorite track: Molecular Entanglement.
    Lorenzo thumbnail
Lorenzo Another chaotic, mind numbing bastard of a death metal album ushering in darks worlds of dissonant technical metal, and a bit of black metal grime. Complex and convoluted, Panpsychism is built with space and composure in comparison to past efforts by this band, yet still retains that sense of twisted avant-garde direction. Each note is carefully placed and sculpted in a compelling manner that forms a surreal horrific atmosphere of churning madness.
    dissonant_ways thumbnail
dissonant_ways What an absolute fucking glorious end to a remarkable trilogy. One that has gotten better with each consecutive release. Everything about this album accentuates the bands strengths to help make it their most cohesive yet. It’s still as mind bending as ever, but my god is it a thrilling listen. One of my favorite parts about it however has to be the more quieter, atmospheric moments. They really add to the whole experience, and are the cherry on top of what is a real standout release in 2023

bmurator US Industrial Black / Death Metal. A one man, m_psymorgh or Matt, project. This is seriously nuts! It feels totally mad at first & then slowly & bit by bit it soaks into you & you start to feel the awesome structure behind it all & what an incredibly intense work of genius it is! Thanks to Yoma for taking me here & to Matten for the very enticing description! Highly recommended!!! Favorite track: Paroxysmal Nova.

    Homer: Do I ever!
Ford: Do you like sparse, suffocating atmospheres?
    Homer: Yes, Mr. Ford.
Ford: Well, why don't you come over and listen to some dissonance,
and we'll have sparse, suffocating atmospheres and then some interesting drum programming? Favorite track: Dual I.

Karl Boson This feels like what pure, unrestrained creativity and freedom must sound like. Mind boggling! Favorite track: Oikeamielisten sali.
    hollowpie thumbnail
hollowpie un groupe à part. Black métal cosmique pour voyager en toute sécurité dans d'incroyables cauchemars. Favorite track: Kuulen ääniä maan alta.
    Q. thumbnail
    Q. Mestarin Kynsi is more than just an album. I have never experienced such intense emotions through music before. Cold shivers down my spine, trembling, complete immersion. While listening, I found myself in a trance, tears streaming down my face… not from sadness, but from pure awe. It felt as if the music was rewiring my nervous system, filling me with an energy I can’t even put into words.
This is not music for casual listening, it’s a ritual, an experience, an obsession. Favorite track: Ilmestys.

Antifascist Black Metal Network "This album is perfect for all the horror freaks out there that want a little horror with their metal. The terrifying beauty of Transmission Errors is that it perfectly captures loudness and making it big and large without sounding over the top." full review: shorturl.at/djMN5

seven skeletons The first track is your funeral. What follows is your journey through the void.

I love this album. The atmosphere is equal parts abrasive and beautiful. Best yet, it is uniquely their own sound. This is a gem that only comes around every so often.

efd123 Excellent album if you are a fan of Doom Metal and Blackened Death Metal! Totally recommend Favorite track: In Dread Tartarus.

    Nuclear Girl thumbnail
Nuclear Girl Tremendously unique music from a startlingly consistent artist. There are so many elements of what makes black metal great in here, but all processed through a peerless personality's own vision. Another project like Portent, WIST, A Forest of Stars, and Ashenspire, which shows the UK has plenty of imaginative metalheads if you know where to look. Favorite track: Imbres Effugio.
    Bummer thumbnail
Bummer I love Notturno the way I love swimming in cold water. Surprise, a sharp breath, I'm COLD. I stay, and then I AM THE COLD.

Imbres Effugio does a perfect job of filling 25 minutes with atmosphere, eyebrow-raising weirdness, and absolute bangers. It takes so much to make these long tracks work and they've done it.
    Favorite track: Imbres Effugio.
    FuegoMyEggo thumbnail
    FuegoMyEggo This is so good.

They continue to hone their craft, expanding the sound, the space, the idea.

Aoty list Favorite track: Imbres Effugio.

Ippocalyptica Emptiness is a vibe unto itself, no other band sounding quite like this, a swirling and writhing manifestation of darkness given form through black and death metal alchemy. I saw them live two years ago and it gave me an idea of how it felt to be sucked into a black hole. Looking forward to the one!

RJ Fluisteraars have put out fairly unique blackgaze album here with ‘Bloem.’ The pacing and added horns give a slight dip into the avant-garde. Start to finish it’s a solid offering. 7/10 Favorite track: Nasleep.

    mourner thumbnail
mourner Hekatomb's Korosta rules with it's intense atmosphere and builds up for unlimited immersion. And the vocals are as insane as Muraszko might have been. Intricate, diverse and fascinating to an extend that doesn't allow any kind of distraction. Hail, Hekatomb. Favorite track: To wszystko na krwi jest oparte (This Is All Based Upon Blood).
    marekpajk thumbnail
marekpajk A brilliant album, very good, clear sound that does not destroy the spirit of black metal, the lyrics coexist amazingly with the atmosphere of the music. This is what modern black metal should sound like... and if I hear Venom in the intro to "Przenicowanie" (adding Slayer drums), it only adds to the positive effect of the entire album. I emphasize once again - this publishing house is a diamond in the dust. Buy or die!
    YomaBarr thumbnail
YomaBarr First :) Gratulacje, Hekatomb! Zagralibyście gdzieś, albo co...

I've been following this band from the start and I always called them "promising". Now I can say, sincerely, that all promises have been kept and fulfilled to the brim. This is black metal pandemonium, yet conceptional and consistent. Must be world crushing live.
These lyrics... John may stick The Revelation up his. And some are written in the regular alexandrine, holy f!
And the Arkha Sva vocalist has serious competition here. Favorite track: Przenicowanie (Reversal).
