    Diogenes Grief thumbnail
Diogenes Grief Been a die-hard fan since Coma of Souls. They are immortal compared to most all of their 1980s peers. Krush the world beneath the weight of thrash metal. Favorite track: Deathscream.
    alleformulka thumbnail
alleformulka there is not a bad song on this album Favorite track: Satanic Anarchy.

    Ravenwell thumbnail
Ravenwell Instrumental transcendental psych prog power house music! If the prog height of the 1970s happened inside a modern studio this would be the result. Keep on making monkey madhouse music Monkey 3. The guitars on Rackman are the stuff of space legends! Favorite track: Rackman.

  4. Winter's Gate
    by Insomnium
    supported by
    Raskolnikov thumbnail
Raskolnikov Essential metal album. Genuinely one of the best in the entire metal genre. Favorite track: Winter's Gate, Pt. 3.
    Anor Aflame thumbnail
Anor Aflame Embark on an intense yet intimate expedition into the whispers of winter. This is a melodic masterwork that sits at the summit of the genre. Favorite track: Winter's Gate, Pt. 2.
    bmurator thumbnail
bmurator Finnish Melodic Death Metal. Of all their albums, this one has a special place. Intended to be just one song, it is perhaps the most immersive of all Insomnium albums imho & it really needs to be listened to in its entirety as it is a "concept" album as they say & tells an epic legend. Having said that, the fifth part really stands out for me & I love it :) I have said it before but I do so again: if you get a chance to see them live, GO! You will not regret it! Extremely highly recommended!!! Favorite track: Winter's Gate, Pt. 5.
    Borja Ilundain thumbnail
Borja Ilundain This masterpiece requires no presentation. My only complaint is not having the whole album/song in one track

Rudal Well... Well... Coroner plays death metal now. A surprising but very good album.
    TheEliteExtremophile thumbnail
TheEliteExtremophile Dissonance Theory is a fantastic record. Coroner had been inactive for so long, the idea of them releasing new music hadn’t even crossed my mind, but I am very glad they’ve put this out. Everything here sounds incredibly fresh and new while also having an obvious connection to their older work.

Full review here: theeliteextremophile.com/2025/11/11/album-review-coroner-dissonance-theory/ Favorite track: Consequence.
    Tom Colquhoun thumbnail
Tom Colquhoun Never heard Coroner's original output but I listened to this on a whim and was blown away. This is everything good about thrash, but with atmosphere and texture. A real breadth of influence here, and it comes together immaculately. Favorite track: Transparent Eye.

    amiko thumbnail
amiko Ollie has to be one of the most enjoyably accomplished vocalists I've had the pleasure of experiencing. His overt nods to retrowave stylings strikes the perfect balance between lighthearted fun, and serious musicianship. This is just an excellent, well produced, fun album with excellent hooks. Well worth the asking price to make it part of your collection. Favorite track: The Driver (feat. The Night Hour).
    Puteri Nurainn thumbnail
Puteri Nurainn Banger after banger after banger. The stuff Ollie puts out is bloody brilliant! He’s a natural in every aspect; music and performing is just in his blood. Super hyped for his second record! Favorite track: I'm a Believer.
    Lord Zardon thumbnail
Lord Zardon Got to see Ollie at a show in Cambridge a few years back with FM-84, and he was absolutely fantastic. Great singer, and wonderful performer. This is a showcase of a fantastic voice in the synthwave community and one of the best the mainstream has never heard. Favorite track: Miracle Mile.
