lord_byleth Dark atmosphere for this pagan/folk by Stefan Tranmüller. He never disappoints and I only want to dig into the rest of Rauhnåcht discography. Favorite track: Letzter Pfad.

H.L. I've known RAUHNÅCHT since 2010, and since then, their mighty "Dem Schicksalsfeld entgegen" has become a personal classic that I listen to again and again. The new album is very vibrant, incredibly captivating, and multifaceted, featuring vocals ranging from clean to shrieking, some interesting folk influences, and dynamic tempo changes. Similar to Dauþuz or Bilwis, their melodic black metal with German lyrics comes across as very narrative. Recommended track: "Das Mark des Lebens". Favorite track: Das Mark des Lebens.
    sashavonkarl74 thumbnail
sashavonkarl74 Austrian alpine/pagan metal act Rauhnåcht plays some really catchy and immersive atmospheric extreme metal with incredible talent, for all instruments are played by one man named Stefan T, the mastermind behind many acts in Austria, "The Negative Bias" being one of them, and one among my favourites...

So far I'd say this is his Magnum Opus :) Favorite track: Letzter Pfad.

DeathMetal.Joako Good morning. Would you like to know where the album I ordered several days ago is?. They told me that it would arrive no later than December 27 but I received no more news, only that I was in the United States and nothing more. They didn't give me a tracking number for the package nor did they tell me which company they sent it to. Please I would like an answer. Thank you so much

sashavonkarl74 If early Enslaved, Windir and Kampfar make you nostalgic of the long-gone days of the Bergen-infused BM scene, rejoice! Heimland is out with their sophomore album, and it is a fine, modern take on Paganism and nature topics to revive those long gone feelings, brought back by frosty and piercing melodies from the west coast of Norway. Favorite track: De Tusen Galters Endelikt.

H.L. HAIMAD get everything right with their melodic approach to black metal. Epic atmosphere, symphonic touches, grim aggression, and a brooding, icy chill are wonderfully balanced and wrapped in an organic soundscape. The album's mood is reminiscent of the glorious 90s and contains some majestic, catchy hits like "When Night Rode Across the North," "Nen Cenedril," "Naur," and "Voice of the Dread Abomination." A truly outstanding album! Favorite track: When Night Rode Across the North.

    Funeral Fog thumbnail
Funeral Fog An essential black metal album to add to your collection this year. It's mountainess and frightening, Akhyls did a top notch job on the mixing/mastering. This band creates something that pushes all boundaries, get this now!
    sashavonkarl74 thumbnail
sashavonkarl74 I clicked “buy now” when only the first track was on pre release. After the full release I thought I had made a mistake. It does sound like all tracks are way too similar. However, after repeated listening and with a good headset, I dig the haunting and eerie atmosphere that these people create with their melodies. Favorite track: Brouillard.

    xaphanapraxia thumbnail
xaphanapraxia Guitar and percussion-driven cosmic black metal, which sounds exactly like it should. The fact that synth isn’t the main thrust gives it a more aggressive or visceral feel, although still distinctly cosmic. FFO MARE COGNITUM, BEZMIR, NUMEN NOCTIS, INHERITS THE VOID.

caffeinatedmetalhead Stumbled across this album on pure chance whilst browsing suggested artists. For a largely one-man act, this is impressive and a blast. It hits all the right spots in being both atmospheric and powerful. Here's hoping for more! 🤘🏼 Favorite track: Eternal Flames of Doom.

H.L. Classic demonic black metal is presented here, rough but also melodic. Songs like "The Draconian Path" are rousing and thrilling, raise your fist and yell to "The Draconian Path". But HALPHAS are also able to play mighty and epic tunes, just listen to the majestic final track "Into the fires of the Black Flame". Favorite track: The Draconian Path.

mourner I'm glad I found Halphas through Sachavonkarl74. Thanks for reveiling this gem of German black metal to me, pal. Great scale, almost epic with skilled guitarists, accomplished songwriting and diverse vocals. Cheers from the neighborhood, Halphas. Favorite track: The Architect's Eye.

last vinyl before doomsday What an incredible and ridiculously obscure speed/power/thrash album with constant and excellent soloing and insanely catchy songwriting. This deserves to be mentioned in the same hallowed breath as early '90s German classics and the greats by USPM masters. Please, press this to vinyl! Favorite track: Dancing With Beasts.
