bambiirose I had to have this album the second I saw Skepta and Fred collab on 3 tracks. While I haven't heard em all, this feels like one of those dollar store surprise goodie bags I used to get as a kid. This is way better and w/o PFAS. Favorite track: Victory Lap (feat. Skepta & Plaqueboymax).

Jay Bramhall This album reminds me of all the late 2000's and early 10's electronic tracks that made me fall in love with the genre, while also being completely fresh. It hits a delicious midpoint between house and ambient; a little bit of Deadmau5, The Field, Kavinsky, and elements of others that I seem to discover each time I listen. "Joshua" is a great album for working, playing games, cooking dinner, or going for a drive. It does it all! Favorite track: Quartz.

Rudi On a mild May evening in 2025 in the sold-out Mühle Hunziken, Switzerland, Sona Jobarteh introduced the enthusiastic audience to the tradition of Gambian music, which also appears on this album. Her playing on the difficult-to-master kora was particularly fascinating. Sona gives another example of the blossoming self-confidence in the young population of African nations, which is particularly evident in the arts, in this case music.

Nickie Harte Kelly World musician Sona Jobarteh specializes in the 21-stringed West African kora, which in itself is quite an accomplishment, as learning the instrument is normally passed from father to son. She is the first professional female kora player. She has a mellifluous voice, and is accompanied by acoustic guitar, flute, and drums on this outing. It is simply beautiful. Favorite track: Saya.
