  1. I Saw The World End (Hangman's Hymn MMXXV)
    by Sigh
    supported by
    Cassiopiea thumbnail
Cassiopiea music should not be this much fun Favorite track: Death With Dishonor.
    Nocturnal Egg (Jordan) thumbnail
Nocturnal Egg (Jordan) I Saw The World End (Hangman's Hymn MMXXV) a tout pour plaire. Favorite track: The Memories As A Sinner.
    Ippocalyptica thumbnail
Ippocalyptica You might already own the original 2007 release of the zany, avant-garde, and wonderful Hangman’s Hymn, and be thinking to yourself, “Why would I need a 2025 re-recording of Sigh’s second or first-best album? How different can it be?” Friends, let me assure you that this is not merely a more “modern” sounding and unnecessary remaster; no, this features much better drumming, sharper fretwork, and yes, richer and clearer production values that lend much-deserved oomph. Better than the original!
    rvss.eel thumbnail
rvss.eel I love Sigh and was disappointed to see this as the next release. Hangman's Hymn is already amazing. But, wow, this is good, and I'm listening to it like it's totally new. The drums hit harder and faster, the strings pack much more of a punch. And the insanity, already present in the original, hasn't been dimmed at all, only ramped up. It still sounds like a mad conductor on vocals, leading his band through joyous hell. I'm even breaking my own rule here to say...

This is my #2 album of 2025. Favorite track: Salvation In Flame.

    caffeinatedmetalhead thumbnail
caffeinatedmetalhead I'll admit I was a bit worried when the band announced Rev left to focus on his opera career. My worries seem to be unfounded as Anthony has done a great job in doing his own thing while melding with the band's style of heavy/power metal. I do like the nods to Rev's time with the band and how he effectively passes the torch with his contribution to "Chosen." For me, this is another solid chapter in this Seattle outfit's legacy. Current favorite track: "Warriors of Greyhawk" Favorite track: Warriors Of Greyhawk.

    Lauren thumbnail
Lauren I have to admit when I finally caved and got a Nordvis subscription and saw what appeared in my collection as a result, I thought "Sons of Crom? that sounds kinda stupid, did I make a mistake?" no, this is actually so great! really nostalgic reminding me of that fantasy power/prog metal with a hint of cheese that I loved as a teenager, it's so well done, catchy and good to listen to on the way to work and get some energy for the day. Favorite track: Fall of Pandemonium.
    barleybase thumbnail
barleybase This has all the right pieces to form a truly epic heavy metal album. From catchy riffs to well placed screams, the feelings are full in this. Couple that with victorious solo work, and I'm picturing myself leading a mercenary army into battle. Favorite track: Fall of Pandemonium.
    Poesy Rider thumbnail
Poesy Rider Crom... J'ai tout de suite pensé à Conan le barbare ; et puis en écoutant ce Black tower, j'ai revu pas mal de scènes sur mon écran intérieur. La preuve que cet album est une réussite ! Favorite track: In Fire Reborn.
