Grubo Love hearing Albini's raw and aggressive recording style on my favorite Fugazi record Favorite track: Facet Squared (Albini Session).
    Mason Pond thumbnail
Mason Pond fuuuuck, finally the demos for this album. I petition that fugazi should release all the demos from every album and song.
Facet also sounds really good played slow and heavy. Favorite track: Facet Squared (Albini Session).

Mike Gintz (Ex-Giddy Motors, for those of you to whom that means something.)

Amazingly complicated but still catchy. I'd call it math rock but it has way too much guts and spit for that; it's precise but also filthy. The vocals are completely unhinged. I love this band. Really hoping they come to the US on tour sometime soon. Favorite track: Previous He.

Paul Phillips Pummelling shouty art rock with great twists and turns. An experience that lends itself nicely to quaffing a couple of pints of mild on a Autumn evening. Favorite track: Pinking.
    Russell Arnott thumbnail
Russell Arnott Poino are one of those bands that makes me think "I wish I could write music like that". Favorite track: Bird Trick.

best rhyme ever! Favorite track: Higher Lonesome.
    frozentanukii thumbnail
frozentanukii Critterland might be one of the best country albums of the decade. In a time in which people's perception of country has been altered negatively by mainstream musical desecration, Carlisle managed to create a gorgeous love letter to the genre, one that is sure to open even the most closed of minds. The stark beauty of a person with an instrument telling stories through song is on full display in every iota of this record. Favorite track: When The Pills Wear Off.
    jurassic_paul thumbnail
jurassic_paul Its got critters, it's got dust, it's got epic renditions about crime and pot - what more could you want from a folk album? Willi is at once all himself and all that came before him from Guthrie to Seeger Favorite track: Dry Country Dust.
