  1. Leviathan
    by Mastodon
    supported by
    WhereWraithsDwell thumbnail
WhereWraithsDwell One of the most critically acclaimed Mastodon albums. The songwriting is strong and varied, with well-developed melodies and some country style guitars too, and besides those, Brann Dailor's hyperactive drumming accents every composition. This album is a definite modern classic packed with great riffs that combine sludge with the complexity of progressive metal and hardcore-like shouted vocals and an appropriately oppressive atmosphere for portraying the story of Moby Dick. Favorite track: Hearts Alive.
    Mount_Mourn thumbnail
Mount_Mourn One ups the debut in ambition and forward thinking Favorite track: Blood and Thunder.
    naasty thumbnail
naasty Had the CD when it came out, lost that. then downloaded a really shitty rip from limewire or something and that's the only non-vinyl copy I've had for years. Yesterday my brother told me Brent died and it hit closer than I would have thought. This music had a huge impact on me when i was younger and I am finally getting a legitimate digital copy. What a ripper, a total classic! RIP Brent

    gileadean thumbnail
gileadean Super heavy but still melodic. Great album, great energy. Aggressiv and driving from start to finish with not a single bad song. No idea what the comments regarding the recording quality are about, but maybe i have lost too much of my hearing listening to dope ass albums such this one. Favorite track: Death Above Life.
    Padre Adamo thumbnail
Padre Adamo The production on this album is terrible. This is unfortunate. I would get a refund if I could because you can't listen to this beyond a certain decibel range.

This is nothing on the band... but this needs to go back to the studio.
    Bloek_25 thumbnail
Bloek_25 this was a random discovery as i browsed vinyls and i fell in love with the artwork first but then got smashed with a brutal mix of Heaven Shall Burn, In Flames and more - fkin epic! Favorite track: Inferna.

bmurator Italian Atmospheric Black Metal. Sung entirely in Latin & extremely epic & almost pompous sounding in places - meant in the best possible way... :) It gave me goosebumps all the way & back again & then some... :) I completely agree with Jana Petrovska words! The different vocals are astounding & all fit in beautifully imho! FFO Nishaiar & Summoning & Caladan Brood & similar. No faves - not yet! Highly recommended!!!
    Jana thumbnail
Jana Have you ever felt as if there is nothing in this world that can satisfy your longings and desires? As C.S. Lewis said, we should begin to wonder if perhaps we were created for another world. Fantasy helps us find a piece of that other world, feel it. Medenera is my gateway to that other world.
