  1. Destroying Angels
    by NOVAE

Goodfri This is a listening experience; akin to how Echoes or Atom Heart Mother by Pink Floyd is more of a profound mood experience while listening. The approach of not oversaturating the mix with synths or stereotypical otherworldly sounds really adds a sense of urgency to the Apollo 11 recordings. Very well done!
    Akira Watts thumbnail
Akira Watts Black metal is a perfect match for the iciness of space, and it's nice to see novæ's unique approach to the mix. Instead of layers of synth and EDM adjacent sounds, they opt for raw 2nd wave noise, livened with Apollo 11 samples. And as it turns out, I think I prefer this approach to sci-fi black metal to the more synth heavy options. While the sound is pure 2nd wave, the addition of samples yields a song that is deeply moving.
    bmurator thumbnail
bmurator US Atmospheric Black Metal. For some reason this is very different for me depending on the way I listen to it. I had it in the car but nothing clicked & now I am listening with headphones & all of a sudden things make sense & you can really sense the Apollo 11 Mission now... :) Therefore, headphones recommended! Thanks novæ! Recommended!

    Nocturnal Egg (Jordan) thumbnail
Favorite track: Years In The Mirror.
    HandOfDoom thumbnail
HandOfDoom Not the most solid Erang release, but has Erang's best songs up to date: A Majestic Shadow, The Ancient Spell, Arakno Kastle, My Mountains, Years Ago, Burial Of Our Fear and Child Of The Storm. Favorite track: Burial Of Our Fear.
    Waldo thumbnail
Waldo A fantastic journey far away from our lands of rotten soil, guided by the whisper of the wind. You will be seduced by magic and wonder. Join the Erang Kingdom.

    Luke thumbnail
Luke Trve black metal in 2025 needs to tick 3 boxes: Go hard as hell. Accept zero Nazi bs. And be recorded in your garage while your kids are at preschool. And this debut by Veytik has it all! An odyssey of savage bronze age castle metal sure to please any crenelation enthusiast. I was introduced to this project via the brilliant Burnt Lodge with whom it shares a different theme but similar flair. And it scratches the same itch that recent favourite Marrow of Man does for me. Car pool hailz!! ⚔️ Favorite track: Orontes Stained Red.
    𝕽𝖔𝖓𝖓𝖎𝖊 𝕿𝖍𝖊 𝕳𝖔𝖗𝖓𝖊𝖉 thumbnail
𝕽𝖔𝖓𝖓𝖎𝖊 𝕿𝖍𝖊 𝕳𝖔𝖗𝖓𝖊𝖉 Sublime ramification of Black/Death Metal, the Castle Metal scene continues to make its way. After Obsequiae, pioneers of the movement, then following the example of artists like Morke or Weald & Woe, we discover with pleasure Veytik : adding an aggressive side to its vocals as well as a dynamic approach to its rhythm, the band obviously keeps the melodic elements and the medieval instrumental parts that make up the whole identity of the genre. Veytik hits hard and we love it !
    chay thumbnail
chay A blistering and melodic chariot charge that slashes the ears and quenches the thirst for battle. An absolute tale of victory and vanquished foes, a spectacle fitting for the whole family upon your castle wall premium seats. Favorite track: Orontes Stained Red.

    supported by
    maddesthatter thumbnail
maddesthatter If you hadn't told me who was behind this project...I think I could have still guessed based on one or two of the synth tones. Absolutely stellar work in a different vein than the artist's usual milieu however. Melancholic and meditative, agitated but hopeful for a brighter future. May we all hope to find the lost havens where the goddess of light once dwelt in wisdom. Favorite track: The stars shone with a peculiar radiance.

    200lbgoblin thumbnail
200lbgoblin This album is melancholic and dark, but I can feel the joy with which it was made. Erang has a true love for making art, and it enriches the world Favorite track: Frumenty.
    maddesthatter thumbnail
maddesthatter A remarkable return-to-roots from one of dungeon synth's modern paragons. The sounds are all new, yet in their very bones are constructed of callbacks to everything that made me a fan a decade ago. Dungeon synth is for everyone and it's because of Erang that The Kingdom is Ours. Favorite track: Spoken Bones.
