Funk and groove knee-deep in the loam
A little clay squishing between the toes
While supping on the pure drop
With heads in the clouds
Gazing up at the firmament
The tunes rise

AOTY contender. Insane musicianship, some tunes almost ambient, others, as another commenter has said, possessing the rhythm and intensity of club bangers. I love how they don't just play a tune the standard 2 or 3 times but sometimes 5 or 6, which gives some sets an almost trance-like quality.

Very unique sound! Love the pairing of instruments, especially with Cormac's assortment of strange concertinas.

I recently saw (via the Arte mediathek) a Joni Mitchell tribute where Jesca contributed and was wondering whether new original material might be on the way - and here it is :-))
Ordered without hesitation!

Another great album Jesca Hoop. Really is another gem, I look forward to letting this sink in over the next few months.

“Every sound that has happened or ever could, all at once all of the time. The bell rings, the pin drops. The whispering wood. Only transfer; never die. An ocean of voices you can’t hear, you can’t feel. Baby, one of them is mine. Invisible pulses are carrying me to the other end of the line.”
Thank you, Jesca. Thank you thank you thank you.
Favorite track: Long Wave Home.

Wonderful! Anxious to hear the rest of the album. CD going to John Gibaut, who hosts the Sunday’s Hornpipe show on KBCS-FM in Bellevue, WA (Seattle area). He’s going to love it!
