wilson-c Wonderful album and great sounding. The extended live tracks in my view work so well and a preference over the shorter tracks on prior studio albums. Favorite track: The Drums.
    Tim Hughes thumbnail
Tim Hughes Incredible. The skill of each member is clearly on display here but the palpable feeling of joy it conveys is what really makes it for me!
    mattgraupman thumbnail
mattgraupman Some painters build up their pieces by using dozens and dozens of thin, nearly imperceptibly different layers of paint, until they've created a work of art that's incredibly deep and rich. That's what SML have done with "Spontaneous Music Live." Musically, of course. Each little addition or subtraction pays off beautifully as these tracks twist and morph and blossom. Amazing work. Favorite track: Roundabouts.

  4. The Anthology of UnAmerican Folk Music
    by Marisa Anderson
    supported by
    Nickie Harte Kelly thumbnail
Nickie Harte Kelly Inspired by a 1952 Folkways compilation, guitarist Marisa Anderson has reimagined folk tunes from areas with which the US has been in conflict in the modern era. Besides electric, acoustic, and pedal steel guitars, you will hear accordion, violin, viola, and various keyboards. From Afghanistan to Vietnam, this is a thoughtful trip into the international language of music. Favorite track: Sarvi Simin.
    kitsuune 🦊💫 thumbnail
kitsuune 🦊💫 lovely, graceful folk gems -- definitely a milestone re: american primitive. Favorite track: Taqsim for Guitar.

Dumb mmmn there's a gentleman down at the warehouse that sometimes seems frustrated that he has to be there. Yesterday he proclaimed "I'm literally going insane!"
They told him to go stand by the door for awhile. He seemed to calm down, but you could tell he was ready to go
    Gilles VG thumbnail
Gilles VG Apparently, this artwork was recorded in Max Richter's studio. I'm now dreaming of a future collaboration between Jensen and Richter. That would be Heaven. Favorite track: In holiday clothing out of the great darkness Part 1.
    Alan Gould thumbnail
Alan Gould I love that she is back to cello based compositions. This is what I loved most about her music before. Emil Friis & Patricio Fraile's "The Expected Sounds of Minor Music" is another favorite and this fits me as well.

This first piece is sublime. Favorite track: In holiday clothing out of the great darkness Part 1.

Lucy Liyou No one makes music like Dustin Wong. Many people have tried but no one has ever come close to the elasticity and affect that Dustin captures in his music. 'Gloria' is another powerful extension of Dustin's singular style and approach. Favorite track: Archangel Michael and the Pacific.

    G Norton thumbnail
G Norton This is such a fun album and immaculate pressing (sirio ultra black). Also nuts to see his professional dexterity from composer of this to lawyer to upper role at Netflix. True savant, happy to have found this. Favorite track: The Inverted Man.
    A Strangely Isolated Place thumbnail
A Strangely Isolated Place I could listen to this specific track on repeat/loop forever. Let alone the greatness of the rest. Favorite track: Abstract Forward Movement.
    Louis Haiman thumbnail
Louis Haiman Soundtrack 313 (Ferox, 1996) is one of those rare, elusive records. An urban legend of sorts. Many have heard it in edited form as Excerpts (Peacefrog, 2000) but to hear it in complete, original context is new for many. Myself included. A gift. Timeless, essential listening and placement into the permanent archive. Favorite track: Abstract Forward Movement.
