  1. These Promises Are Being Videotaped (album)
    by EL TEN ELEVEN
    supported by
    Andy thumbnail
Andy Short and sweet, El Ten Eleven pack together an awesome 28 minutes of instrumental rock, and a quick little Radiohead cover. Awesome. Favorite track: Fat Gym Riot.
    Ben Koehler thumbnail
Ben Koehler In this album, ETE has moved more into the rock realm with their music. As always, expert looping and layering done by this duo make it hard to believe that only two people made this music. This album is guaranteed to make whatever you're doing seem much more intense! Favorite track: Chino.

  2. Violence Unimagined
    by Cannibal Corpse
    supported by
    Mental Wreckage thumbnail
Mental Wreckage Best CC album for me, followed closely by Torture and the Wretched Spawn.

By the way - dudes, can't you also include the uncensored cover here? Favorite track: Surround, Kill, Devour.
    motokoprime thumbnail
motokoprime In my top 3 CC albums of the George era. Erik Rutan joining the band did a lot to dial it up to 11. Hes a demon on the strings and an amazing producer. His song writing contributions are nothing to scoff at either. He wrote my fav song on the album, Condemnation Contagion. Favorite track: Condemnation Contagion.
    thesausage thumbnail
thesausage Erik Rutan's first album with CC and it's solid! This album continues their streak since Kill, just one amazing song after another. I'll play this album on repeat, it's incredible. Favorite track: Condemnation Contagion.

  3. The Bleeding
    by Cannibal Corpse
    supported by
    Obsidian One thumbnail
Obsidian One Such a classic death metal album, The Bleeding is one of the best early Cannibal Corpse releases. "Stripped, Raped, and Strangled" and "The Bleeding" are the cream of the crop featuring Chris Barnes. One of the most memorable death metal CDs from my youth, the riff at 0:54 of "The Bleeding" is still catchy as ever, and was one of the first songs I tried to learn during my guitar practicing days. "Staring Through the Eyes of the Dead" and "Pulverized" take me back as well. Favorite track: The Bleeding.
    motokoprime thumbnail
motokoprime If this album had hammer smashed face on it, it'd be a Cannibal Corpse best of compilation. Every song is a ripper and a staple. The evil tone is perfected. Chris is at his best here vocally. (not just within CC but his entire career, the fall off is crazy) So many memorable riffs and the atmosphere it builds is insane. To this day it remains my #1 death metal album. Favorite track: Return To Flesh.
    greedo318 thumbnail
greedo318 Although a lot of people are put off by Barnes's screeching, I personally find it really enhances how crazy the music is. Especially the "HARDER HARDER" in 'Fucked with a Knife' or "She was so beautiful. I HAD TO KILL HER" in 'Stripped, Raped, And Strangled'. Favorite track: Fucked With A Knife.

  4. Netherheaven
    by Revocation
    supported by
    rvss.eel thumbnail
rvss.eel I passed on this when it was released because I had been listening to too much GIOS and TOO, but with the release of NGNM, I began to worry that I was missing out on Netherheaven. It doesn't take much research to learn that this is considered their "death metal" album. So I'm definitely in. And man, this album is so very sick. When it riffs it shreds (which is always and no surprise). It's weird saying that a death metal band is really good at going death metal, but, I think it makes sense here. Favorite track: Godforsaken.
    GMurphrygian thumbnail
GMurphrygian Stank Face inducing music! From the first chord...
    Tyler Farrow thumbnail
Tyler Farrow Ash Pearson has breathed life into this band for me. The guitar was always good, the singing was always good. The drums have been hit or miss for me, but ever since Outer Ones and forward, These drums as a percussionist myself are INSANELY enjoyable. Favorite track: Nihilistic Violence.

    Ohm Cairn Ohm Cairn
    supported by
    barleybase thumbnail
barleybase I keep coming back to this album over and over again. the sound is so tight, heavy, and the storytelling is absolutely gripping. not to mention technical riffs and solos that feel like organic beings. Favorite track: Caligula.
    VenoMal1c3 thumbnail
VenoMal1c3 So ridiculously technical, it might make you retarded! Seriously, this won't simply blow your mind, no these 7 tracks will vaporize your gray matter & should a partial head be recovered, it'll be the bottom half with a maniacal smile still present.
The album also manages to be a FUN banger that'll make your cat (who loves Metal) race around like her tail's on fire while you windmill & get all sorts of crazy. Just don't leave the blinds & windows open. Wait, do. Your neighbors need to hear this. Favorite track: Humanaut.
