H.L. OUTLAW play highly captivating black metal, predominantly fast-paced and driving forward, but not without melody and atmosphere. The hoarse, distorted vocals perfectly complement the dynamic tracks. Here and there you can catch your breath before the tempo picks up again, the drums unleash a relentless onslaught, and the guitars shred. Truly a tempestuous performance! You can really immerse yourself in the inferno during tracks like "Through the Infinite Darkness" or "Those Who Breathe Fire." Favorite track: Through the Infinite Darkness.

sashavonkarl74 I already wrote it countless times, I am stunned that every now and then I stumble upon a rare gem of Melodic Black Metal gem and surprise surprise, it is a band from Brazil! I already have two previous albums from OUTLAW and as such I am really looking forward to the full release date!
Highly recommended FFO Watain, Dissection, and maybe Litosth, Autrest, and the 90's Scandinavian classics. Favorite track: A Subtle Intimation.
    Timothy Alex Tombstone thumbnail
Timothy Alex Tombstone Wow. Astonishing album. This is how metal should be done. Majestic. Favorite track: A Subtle Intimation.

    Pat thumbnail
Pat I wanted to love this, but I find it derivative and, to be honest, uninspired. Production value and execution are great, so are the drumming and vocals, but I want to see some real creativity and originality in their next release.

porcelainheart- I skipped over this when it first came out, not sure why but as you can see, it's never too late to do the right thing. Three tracks of some of the easiest listening on the black metal side. This has so many intricately layered folk acoustics that worm their way into your head and stay there for hours, a unique blend that I'm surprised hasn't been done as well before. It translates into some of the best songwriting I've heard in black metal period. FFO Akvan and Mare Cognitum. Favorite track: As Selvas Vermelhas no Planeta dos Eminentes.
    boinky37 thumbnail
boinky37 I've been obsessed with this since buying it. There's so much anguish and yearning packed into these songs, but also hopefulness and determination to move towards a better world with the old world as a guide Favorite track: Legado.
    Ippocalyptica thumbnail
Ippocalyptica Caio Lemos is brilliant no matter the banner under which he chooses to release atmospheric black metal, and if he keeps it up, I might stop referring to him as the Brazilian Panopticon, and start referring to Austin Lunn as the American Kaatayra! Vauruvã is the (slightly) more melancholic and sombre manifestation of Lemos’ artistic vision, and I think Mar da Deriva is the second-best thing he’s made, right behind Toda História pela Frente. For 35 minutes, this will take you to a better place. Favorite track: As Selvas Vermelhas no Planeta dos Eminentes.

Celt666 Mesmerizing symphonic Black Metal from Sweden. A masterpiece.
    H.L. thumbnail
H.L. HAIMAD get everything right with their melodic approach to black metal. Epic atmosphere, symphonic touches, grim aggression, and a brooding, icy chill are wonderfully balanced and wrapped in an organic soundscape. The album's mood is reminiscent of the glorious 90s and contains some majestic, catchy hits like "When Night Rode Across the North," "Nen Cenedril," "Naur," and "Voice of the Dread Abomination." A truly outstanding album! Favorite track: When Night Rode Across the North.
