Metallurgical Fire I’m really hoping the next full length sounds exactly like this. The production is perfect.

Odiumediae Gotta be the most satisfying demo I've listened to in years. I particularly enjoy the filthy, yet clear sounding guitar and bass. The drums offer a pretty good pounding as well and the vocals fit perfectly. It's a damn shame I didn't stumble upon this Death Metal gem much earlier, though. Favorite track: Mother of Abominations.

Metallurgical Fire Intro of the year on the first track! Favorite track: Mother of Abominations.
    Jake Walter thumbnail
Jake Walter Costa Rican newcomers ASTRIFEROUS bring forth a punishing slate of Finnish-style death metal in the vein of Abhorrence, Purtenance, and Demigod. If you like a crunchy, OSDM aesthetic, this is for you! Favorite track: Mother of Abominations.
    Neil Grace thumbnail
Neil Grace I can’t keep up with how much amazing modern (yet reeking of the 1990’s) death metal is around at the moment.
Astriferous know their onions where death metal is concerned for sure. Not overly produced which adds to the eerie nature of the sound. Old school through and through and not afraid to lurch between slow/mid paced and fucking belting speed.

Piper Haqim I think I listened to this 13x today and it is a brutal beautiful slab of tech death mayhem that constantly pulls the brakes just long enough for you to catch your breath before beating the snot out of you. Great album! \m/ Favorite track: Finding Consistency in the Fourth Quadrant of Eternity.

Skronk Eximperitus has shifted the landscape of technical death metal from the riverbanks of Cairo to the back alleys of Constantinople. Most excellent. Favorite track: The Untimely Fruit of the Unsaid.

David Fischer So, technical death metal often feels like quite the slog (or show-off), if the song writing skills / self-control of the band are not that high. This album is not a drag at all. Listening to this, even though it is top-notch-busy tech-death is way more calming than even trying to pronounce the band's name. Reminds me of Necrophagist quite a lot, which is one of the biggest achievements a tech-death-band can achieve in my book. Even the 5 minute ambient outro passes by in a few heartbeats. bcb723 So this album is completely crazy (in a great way). You have to stand in amazement at the entire package -- the technical perfection, the lyrics from "dead languages of the Ancient East", and whatever the hell is going on with the Egypt meets Erich von Däniken insanity of the cover art. It would almost be a ridiculous joke if the music wasn't so fucking great. Highly impressive and recommended. Bart One of my favorite grindcore bands in the last few years (both on albums and live). This new album ticks all the boxes. They still comfortably sit in the grindcore chaos while bringing in groove, death metal riffs and the occasional hardcore breakdowns. The frenetic energy of Gobi's guest vocals "Abolition" is another highlight. Top notch album, and I can't wait to see them again. Favorite track: Abolition.

Bart Sometimes you really gotta see a band live for it to really sink in. I didn't "get" this band till I saw them live with Brujeria. Really great set of grinding/thrashing metal. Looking forward to seeing this band get bigger/better. Favorite track: Manipulate-Consume.
