I'm not sure why I know the name Gmork, but in my head it is associated with good black metal. This EP bears that idea out. Although, admittedly, I'm not as much of a fan of clean vocals as YomaBarr apparently is :P

Brett (Lascaille's Shroud / Soulmass) The band origins are no less intense and heavy as their albums, and absolutely worth your full time and attention. Favorite track: Rituals of Ignorance.

Urso X Proggy blackened techdeath that’s (as per the description) nuanced, textured, and refreshing. This isn’t a FFO suggestion, as HG doesn’t really sound like any of the bands I’m about to mention, but to me this generally fits somewhere between the dizzying acrobatics of Februus, the glistening beauty of The Scalar Process, and the weird, anomalous technicality of Xenosis. All in all, a perfect match for TOR and its loyal legion of (us) dm-loving oddballs! Favorite track: Dreamwoven.

Urso X I’m not sure how this could top the brilliant Surveillance Orgy, but the preview tracks sound as mind-bending as ever, and the SWANS-esque artwork is, by itself, worth the price of admission. Can’t wait!
