.Willyim.G Stunning is word comes to mind when thinking about this album. Pseudo-psychic-folk-ritual- trance masterpiece to dance around the fire to. Seething whispers turned to hymns turned to hypnagogic dream state. Think deserts at nighttime. Think music born from caves. Etc. Favorite track: Soil Death Tape Decay II.
    TheSlowMusicMovement thumbnail
TheSlowMusicMovement Known under many whispered names in many disparate places, Ak'chamel are back from their desert retreat with another psychedelic, ritualistic, global roots fusion for Akuphone which is destined to soundtrack the near future's great march - when the climate displaced take to the roads & boats out of desperate need, to confront the perpetrators & their hastily erected walls, seeking retribution & refuge in the last habitable lands.
    Saffron Robe thumbnail
Saffron Robe Ak’chamel’s best work to date in my humble opinion. Sumptuously exotic and exquisitely authentic. An aural delight from beginning to end!

rossblumhorst From haunting ambiance to incredible explosive noise, a wide array of moods and sounds drawn out of these strings and elevated with the vocal/percussion guest contributions makes for an amazing & impactful listen. Gonna have this on repeat for a while Favorite track: Beatrice.

RA Terrific album, intelligent, deep, fulsome bass moves, low tempo with a classical edge at times. Just great!
    sehrsehr thumbnail
sehrsehr I attended the evening at Funkhaus Berlin and remember very well that it was really cold inside the venue so I left on everything I was wearing and lay down on the wooden floor in my completely zipped up raincoat.

The warm and slightly distorted bass of the opener felt even better then.

Thank you for publishing the recording.

    𝕋𝕨𝕚𝕤𝕥𝕖𝕕𝕤𝕠𝕦𝕝 thumbnail
𝕋𝕨𝕚𝕤𝕥𝕖𝕕𝕤𝕠𝕦𝕝 The trio’s chemistry is immediate. Paul Giess’s trumpet cuts and coils, sometimes lyrical, sometimes abrasive, always searching. Grant Calvin Weston’s drumming never settles into comfort, constantly nudging the music forward, while Timothy Ragsdale’s bass anchors the chaos without pinning it down. Favorite track: The Bent Tree Endures.

billybobbell Floating through a soundscape of clouds across a rough prairie of stubborn brush and earth, piled high with memories of times which moved through time without stopping. On the edge, of greatness.
    Andrew Tuttle thumbnail
Andrew Tuttle Absolutely stunning album, well done William! Favorite track: Anima Hotel.
    josh epps thumbnail
josh epps Haunted, noisy, and beautiful. The tape manipulations add so much depth to the already rich guitar compositions. The balance between despair and hope feels very necessary for these wildly unstable times. Probably my album of the year. Favorite track: Anima Hotel.
