    tim_the_curator thumbnail
tim_the_curator This is a great example of the fun storytelling possible through lyricism; it's one big effort to immerse you in a world of neon-lit streets, rain-drenched skyscrapers climbing into darkness, and the conflicts of the people (and machines) living beneath them. Drawing heavily on '80s synthwave without slavishly adhering to its conventions, Dreams of Neo-Tokyo is like a solid little classic sci-fi novella, set to the sound of the era that first married cosmic conflict to street-level grit. Favorite track: Shout (Blue Stahli & Sunset Neon Remix).
    Illweevil thumbnail
Illweevil Dreams of Neo-Tokyo is a fun package that gives productions of several beloved synthwave acts the rare chance of shining together in high quality vocal songs. Another highlight is the synthwave remix of a synthwave cover of the classic Tears for Fears song Shout that gives it a fun twist with layers of synthwave action. Consistently nailing the gritty cyberpunk tones makes this vocal synthwave album a standout. Favorite track: Empty Streets (GosT Remix).
    Jason Darklyte thumbnail
Jason Darklyte It's extremely interesting to see how all these specifically picked artists show their unique dynamics on each of these songs. Everywhere from the soft to the hard, the weird to the rad, all of these remixes are nothing short of intelligent and marvelously retro. Favorite track: Shout (Blue Stahli & Sunset Neon Remix).

  4. China in Your Hand
    by GUNSHIP

    jdtheninja thumbnail
jdtheninja I love GUNSHIP!!! And this remix of T'Pau's song is fantastic!!
    CMB thumbnail
CMB One wonders if, when composing the original melody, Decker and Rogers could possibly have known that they had created something that would be ideally suited for a genre that wouldn’t exist for another 20+ years. And that begs what other similar treasures from the era might be mined thus.
    david_86 [phoan] thumbnail
david_86 [phoan] The song was a huge hit in 1987, topping the charts in several countries and becoming an anthem. It serves as a powerful reminder of the consequences of chasing our ambitions without considering their impact on ourselves and others. By covering this track, Gunship has taken another step forward into the realm of synthwave!
    Falcom thumbnail
Falcom Another fantastic cover that warps us beyond light speed straight back to 1987.

    Fiver Aoife Zaitsev thumbnail
Fiver Aoife Zaitsev Gunship has done it again. I genuinely can't pick between the pre-chorus or the bridge being my favourite part, but the whole track is genuinely so good start to finish. I've had it on loop since it dropped.
    hollywutz thumbnail
    hollywutz Because it's GUNSHIP!
    Mark deLight thumbnail
Mark deLight The world stops ending, for at least a moment, when a new Gunship track shows up for purchase on Bandcamp!!! One brief spark of hope and joy emerges from the wasteland of today. (yes, repeated from my youtube post... )

    fcjbb thumbnail
fcjbb SCM...wonderful discovery! I missed purchasing the 2017 release somehow but awesome sound!! The new 2020 album is more mellow, not the same emotion that screamed across the concert hall of 2017 but still evolution and Yes! happiness and joy, another SCM release!! It’s different from their prior releases but it’s still gripping and gorgeous!
    StazionSpaziaal777 thumbnail

    cgralak944 thumbnail
cgralak944 The Quiet Earth simply opens up one’s mind with new ideas and ambitions that one’s imagination alone could not think of piecing together. What an amazing composition! Favorite track: The Quiet Earth.
    aksoum thumbnail
aksoum More science fiction in this album than in 90% of the movies released since 10 years. To be read with a comic book like Carbon and Silicon for a perfect match. Favorite track: The Quiet Earth.
    joogipupu thumbnail
joogipupu This album evokes similar emotions as the sense of mystery and excitement when I discovered both science fiction literature and French comics in my early teens. Favorite track: The Quiet Earth.
