I love how sparse this is. Barrie doesn't use a ton of effects on his guitar unlike many psych rock players these days and I think that difference works to his advantage. The cleaner distortion forces you to pay closer attention to the notes he's playing, and you can hear how deliberate and controlled his style is. The rhythm section is great, too; they're groovy, punchy, and in the pocket, just as they should be. A refreshing take on the power trio format.
