ISV_Rahili Its a really neat song that reminds me of something i cant quite remember.
I would also say Dawson's Christian, but i cant pick two Favorite track: Just a Dream.
    GarrettStrife thumbnail
GarrettStrife Vic Tyler has passed. But Dawsons Christian will haunt filk for all time.

An anthem of an era. RIP Vic. Favorite track: Dawson’s Christian.
    James W thumbnail
James W Beautifully performed folk-styled album with a wide range of tones and subject matter from inspirational to tender and haunting. The artist's background document accompanying it is nice to have as well. Favorite track: Burn It Down.

  2. The Cover Up (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)

operaghostcam I would give up both my kidneys for another protomen cover album. Their versions of I Drove All Night, Mr. Roboto, In The Air Tonight, and The Trooper are my favourite versions of the songs Favorite track: I Drove All Night.
    Sprenzee thumbnail
Sprenzee This is the best cover album ever made. Stop, no, what you're thinking is wrong. That one you're thinking isn't it. It's this. I don't care! This is the one. I don't even like Celine Dion, but I'm shouting "I DROVE ALL NIIIIIIIIIIGHT" in my car. That's the magic of the Protomen. Favorite track: Danger Zone.
    burrito741 thumbnail
burrito741 The Silent Running cover is amazing, on par with Mike & The Mechanics's original, but in the wake of Act 3 I have to give it up for 'I Drove all Night'. It's so hard not to hear it as being the final postmortem piece for Light and Emily, Joe and 'Leave the Light On' Girl. Maybe Wily too, with the down tempo (aka lonelier) bit near the close's rapturous finale. And it manages to sound better than either of the original versions (Roy Orbenson's first-recorded v Cindy Lauper's first-released). Favorite track: I Drove All Night.

  3. Bone Crown
    by Marah in the Mainsail

    ostensiblyfunctional thumbnail
ostensiblyfunctional It tells a story. Not just a one-off banger that stands out from the whole album, no—the whole album tells different parts of a story, and if you miss one song, you miss a backstory or perspective. Even if some songs are more catchy than others, they all have their own haunting beauty. This is a non-chronological anthology in music format. Favorite track: The Great Beyond.
    thatonepossum thumbnail
thatonepossum At first I thought the album description was just hyping it up as much as possible to make it sound incredible. But no, it's actually extremely accurate, and the album is actually that good. Favorite track: Bone Crown.

rocketjumper64 Rae has such a beautiful voice that pairs with the groovy backing in a way that always makes me want to dance. Stellar!!!! Favorite track: Good Life.
    kanomitri thumbnail
kanomitri Got introduced to Sammy Rae through my sister listening to Flesh & Bone. Immediately a groove that got me into the rest of this banger of an album. Much loves for "The Good Life"--it is a gem <3 Favorite track: Good Life.

Wes Campbell Flesh & Bone was such a banger at The Phoenix in Toronto! Favorite track: Flesh & Bone.

  5. Act III: This City Made Us
    by The Protomen
    supported by
    ButchAmy thumbnail
ButchAmy I feel very much like I want to crawl into Act 3 and curl up and stay there. Not because it's cozy and warm but because it's like a hole under a bridge while it's freezing rain and storming outside. It's cold and hard but it's dry and the pain is familiar. (This is a positive btw) Favorite track: Buried In The Red.
    theyca11megman thumbnail
theyca11megman 16 years of waiting all lead to this incredible banger in an album of bangers. Favorite track: No Way Back.
    jlangel thumbnail
jlangel A sweeping celebration of 80's vocal excess; lyrical narratives as dramatic as any theatrical; and crushing instrumentation. What more could you ask for? Bought this album sight unseen on a recommendation, and I was brought under The Protomen's sway instantly. Favorite track: Calling Out.
