    Ghuughra thumbnail
Ghuughra Not sure what I was expecting, but I'm certainly not disappointed. Groovy and chill, with occasional excursions into avant-noise territory. And not a singer in sight (good).

Not a listen-everyday type release, but still a solid addition to the collection. Favorite track: Promenade à deux.
    ninsopolis thumbnail
ninsopolis The Real McCoy. Sends me straight to heaven. Thank you for soundtracking so much of my life. Favorite track: Promenade à deux.
    Lord Dubious thumbnail
Lord Dubious A kinder, gentler Tortoise for '25. I like how it picks up some steam towards the end. Got some their prettiest stuff since "It's All Around You" on it. Dig! Favorite track: Rated OG.

Braulio Rivas This is a desert full of life Favorite track: Eternal Sunshine Creates A Desert.
    Michael Mueller thumbnail
Michael Mueller This album's music ebbs and flows like a river, and in doing so, perfectly fuses the spirit of jazz with the compositional craft of classical.

A pleasure to hear the seldom solo tuba and bass trumpet given so much room to shine, as it reveals them to possessed of real melodic resonance that belies their position as little more than harmonic bedrocks.

Herskedal is a gifted composer, but this is career highlight, even by his already lofty standards. Favorite track: The Roc.
    Jeff Kliment thumbnail
Jeff Kliment Dynamic, breathing, and full of life. A recording that rewards repeated listening. Favorite track: Eternal Sunshine Creates A Desert.
    john greenwood thumbnail
john greenwood I am a fan, the last two Herskedal albums were exceptional. Really glad to get this on vinyl. I have to say as much as I expected this to be quite good, it still surprises me just how good it is. Much respect for the depth and the breadth of the Music you continue to create. My favorite track has changed several times already. Favorite track: Eternal Sunshine Creates A Desert.

billybobbell Floating through a soundscape of clouds across a rough prairie of stubborn brush and earth, piled high with memories of times which moved through time without stopping. On the edge, of greatness.

Andrew Tuttle Absolutely stunning album, well done William! Favorite track: Anima Hotel.
    josh epps thumbnail
josh epps Haunted, noisy, and beautiful. The tape manipulations add so much depth to the already rich guitar compositions. The balance between despair and hope feels very necessary for these wildly unstable times. Probably my album of the year. Favorite track: Anima Hotel.
