Barbon Fringant I listen to very few bands with German lyrics. Here you have an excellent post-black metal band with great songwritting and vocals. Favorite track: Stolperkenotaphe.

    whack thumbnail
whack Vegan post-metal, slightly blackened but mostly melodic, atmospheric, and depressive. Lyrics explore anarcho-primitivist, anti-anthropocentric and eco-apocalyptic philosophy, and critique of social dogmas. Civilization is denounced as self-destructive, scarring the Earth and fostering consumerism, intolerance, and estrangement from life. Brilliant. Favorite track: The Scars of the Land.
    Mako's Abs thumbnail
Mako's Abs So sad to see this band fade. These lyrics hit home very hard and every instrument melts together in one powerful melancholic, bitter cocktail. When I am cycling in the marshes and the abandoned forest roads, while listening to King Apathy, I feel very connected to the mother that gave birth to us all. Favorite track: Reverence.
    Tim McLelland thumbnail
Tim McLelland This band is amazing. No clean vocals to be found, but they still manage to evoke the same feelings modern Katatonia does ... pure depression. Don't always agree with their message, but this is some powerful music. Favorite track: He missed the Stars.
