    Nickie Harte Kelly thumbnail
Nickie Harte Kelly Inspired by a 1952 Folkways compilation, guitarist Marisa Anderson has reimagined folk tunes from areas with which the US has been in conflict in the modern era. Besides electric, acoustic, and pedal steel guitars, you will hear accordion, violin, viola, and various keyboards. From Afghanistan to Vietnam, this is a thoughtful trip into the international language of music. Favorite track: Sarvi Simin.

grannycat13 If you hear a rumor that “Cornbread and Pinto Beans” was written about me, I probably started it. Another JRM masterpiece!
    Ellis Ray thumbnail
Ellis Ray The dude abides on this one & fam it’s a good trip. The electric, slide, and organ orchestrates the occasional acid flashback. Lyrically some are more personal while others appeal to the everyday person. “Looking for a place to die” & “cornbread & pinto beans” reminds us that power is out of their element & doesn’t give shit about the rules. This time, the bums win! Favorite track: A World Away.

veenstar This is such a great listen. I love artists that are always evolving. Her style is all there, but it's expanding into new territory, and the production value is sympathetic to the vibe. Favorite track: Without Making A Sound.
    Joe Imwalle thumbnail
Joe Imwalle I first discovered Bella White via her Neil Young cover song. Then when this album came out I kept coming back again and again and I’m the type of listener who spends most his time skipping around exploring this and that but this one got me hooked… had to get it on vinyl.

jazzrob A superb album. Somehow does that trick of sounding entirely original whilst having its feet firmly planted in the folk/country tradition. An artist that will continue to fascinate.
