Ishtar Fantastic! So fucking good and meditative. I hope there will be more hypothermia merch in the future !
    OyO DooM OccultA thumbnail
OyO DooM OccultA Haaa, Hypothermia... Favorite track: Kaffe & Blod II.

    Gale thumbnail
Gale I love that more and more people are trying to mix black metal and goth with trip hop and edm. It's such an unexplored playing ground that juat really paints a pretty picture when done right. Good stuff, man! Keep it up. :)
    10/10 album. Favorite track: He.
    Gareth Moore thumbnail
Gareth Moore this is exactly what ive been missing in my life...stunning album Favorite track: Him.

  4. A Light So Dim
    by ULTHA
    supported by
    Ryan Johanson thumbnail
Ryan Johanson I've spent the last several years quietly wondering to myself what a black metal/post-punk hybrid would sound like, or if such a thing would even make sense.

This is exactly the sound I was imagining, brought to life before my very ears. Favorite track: Sister Faith & Sister Chance.
    Phyl Lobius thumbnail
Phyl Lobius ULTHA waren ja schon immer etwas Besonderes. Favorite track: Love As We're Falling Down.
    behexed thumbnail
behexed Aus dem absoluten Nichts, ein neues Ultha album?! Warum nicht? ;)
Weißes Vinyl bestellt, kann es kaum erwarten. All hail Ultha! Favorite track: Her Still Singing Limbs.

  5. Sidera
    by Miserere Luminis
    supported by
    Frosty Bear thumbnail
Frosty Bear What an absolutely gorgeous, amazing album. Beautiful and emotionally heavy while being uplifting. Favorite track: Les fleurs de l’exil.
    Drew Music thumbnail
Drew Music Genuinely atmospheric, top notch post-black metal without a weak or wasted moment to be heard. Immersive, crushing and somehow also inspiring, straight to the top of the AotY contender list. Favorite track: Aux bras des vagues & des vomissures.
    Nocturnal Egg (Jordan) thumbnail

Colin M. Killer. Love the way they incorporate all sorts of heavy bits and fit them together in a way that sounds different than other groups in the space. Dig it! Favorite track: Phantoms.
    Adrian Begg thumbnail
Adrian Begg Fucking sick album guys, loving the sound. Favorite track: Phantoms.
    FDJ (Desert Psychlist) thumbnail
FDJ (Desert Psychlist) Languid ambience and blustering heaviness comfortably sitting side by side, this is a great album. Favorite track: Empty Cities.
    lloydd thumbnail
lloydd Fantastic feeling to this record the atmosphere is fucking amazing. That is what makes this release so special. Great work guys. Favorite track: Empty Cities.

Captain Stoner Awesome heavy psychedelic rock!! Heavy grooves, dreamy melodies with massive riffs and trippy guitar solo!!
    Alice M. thumbnail
Alice M. While I’m not totally an adept of those vocals (but I’m maybe just not their target audience), everything else is nearly perfect – and I don’t use the word “perfect” lightly, when it comes to music.
    DwayneEldredge thumbnail
DwayneEldredge Fantastic release to lose yourself in! Almost hypnotic. Favorite track: Numenia.

  3. GREIF
    by Zeal and Ardor
    supported by
    scotttomino thumbnail
scotttomino I hesitate to call Zeal & Ardor fully realized because I know there are places Manuel and the band still want to take their listeners. You can feel it in this release, the first as a full band. There is literally something for everyone on Greif, but the core of the album is still tied to Z&A's past. The heaviness and aggressiveness are still pervasively there. I think the criticisms of the album are missing that aspect. Looking forward to hearing where they take us next. Favorite track: Thrill.
    jeremyrook thumbnail
jeremyrook I love how this band, after 8 years from their first album, can come up with something like this one. Perfection. Favorite track: Kilonova.

    Squirrel Hats thumbnail
Squirrel Hats Hard ti pick a fave on this album. They are a muddy zeppelin, especially the drummer. To me he sounds so much like Bonham. Really great stuff Favorite track: A Wolf In My Mind.
    joulussance thumbnail
joulussance Nasty grooves and velvetine grooves, one of the best stoner albums I've heard. Favorite track: Breathe, Breathe Out.

  5. Silent Future
    by REZN & Vinnum Sabbathi
    supported by
     thumbnail
A gripping and dream-like continuation of Vinnum Sabbathi's Sci-Fi opera, with REZN's influence shaping the story and the sound into new, unearthly dimensions. Part fantasy, part nightmare, this album paints a vivid and uneasy picture, one you can't help but listen to, like a good sci-fi movie that leaves you feeling unsure and a little scared - the crossroads of wonder and fear.
    Milo Bloom thumbnail
Milo Bloom Ever wished Hawkwind was heavier? This album blew my mind. Fantastic on headphones, and you will see colors even without chemical assistance. Favorite track: Unknown Ancestor.
    pinkytheent thumbnail
pinkytheent A tasty slab of science fiction heavy music! I really loved how the spoken word passages pushed forward a sense of scifi story, even when the words themselves were drowned out. REZN give us their hazy psychedelic doomy miasma which I really liked on Solace. Now it is cut with the influence of Vinum Sabbathi, whom I have never listened to, so it’s fun to feel out the shape of their contribution. Overall, this split read the brief on what makes the best splits: they feel like a new creature. Favorite track: Unknown Ancestor.

CyanStrawberry (almost) unbearably cool desert jazz. This adds luscious texture to my summer playlist, but I'm also eager to hear Glass Beams' sound branch out! 🏜️ Favorite track: Mirage.
    sunhesper thumbnail
sunhesper Tough to pick a favorite but the bassline in “Kong” is just so rich. And I love the nod to the classic Bollywood song “Dum Maro Dum” in “Taurus”. I’ve developed a reverence for Maton guitars thanks to this band! Favorite track: Kong.
