swaylounge I really heard this song first when Tracey Thorn sang it more than 30 years ago. Mr. Springsteen’s finest love song. It means a lot that Nation hears it so clearly and shares it so confidently. I will now go sing it to my wife, again.

Original_Gilton For me, this is the William Tyler record—at least, if you're into the more conventional, I guess you'd say, guitar-based stuff. Atmospheric release. Deep swells. He speaks to the inside from the outside. Absurdly articulated. Who knew songs could be so memorable with only guitar lines to lead their melodies? If the stars could sing. Favorite track: Highway Anxiety.

Laurence Warner no words needed Favorite track: Albion Moonlight.

gayforthesun Jupiter 4 came on when I was driving home in the dark on the freeway, & since it was the 4th there were fireworks on the horizon in every direction. Weirdly surreal and peaceful moment I won't forget for a while. Favorite track: Jupiter 4.

Ben Miller I knew this would be good, but this runs the risk of being too good. Ethereal and immediate at the same time. Can't recommend this enough. Favorite track: The Pain and Sleep Department.

maoltod This group, also on "The Way Out of Easy," can sustain and deftly shift grooves in an intoxicating way. I wish these performances were twice as long, because they get better and better as the group stretches them out.

Brilliant music from a brilliant ensemble.

joshjames Love the free grooves and how warm this sounds. The IVtet have a unique was of fusing jazz with lovely ambient atmospheres. These performances are great.

Tarage Funky speedy tunes that will put a large smile on your face and make you incontralably twitch until you start dancing/jumping around.
Very punky and rich vocal work, with a wide variety of expressions, from sweety warm tone to sour, almost mocking voice, with crystal clear, almost ethereal or childlike moments. Favorite track: Repetition.

    clockenfrau thumbnail
clockenfrau RDF accompanied me on the journey of beginning a miraculous treatment for an illness that had consumed a decade of my life and came to feel like a cherished friend. Singing along to 'where is my sense of joy? it's creeping back in' at the first live show I was able to fully enjoy without being in agony was a life-changingly beautiful moment that I will never forget. Favorite track: Kevin's Car.
