theshan420 I wish I would have said "sing us a wicked tune" as we parted ways!!! I can't wait to hear this whole album on record on my birthday!!! (soon in december...) I bet it will sound even more beautiful then its ever sounded before... this entire album continues to soothe my soul & ease my heart through some of the darkest nights...I could never thank you enough for sharing your gifts with me...you are trully a treasure to be held close for all time... Favorite track: Song With No Name.
    John English thumbnail
John English As a big fan of Acid Bath and Dax's solo/Deadboy/AoB works I've always had a mental block about this record and never listened much. So now in 2025 it's like having 2 new albums. Favorite track: Graves Beyond Windows.
    nosluap thumbnail
nosluap I’m old enough to remember when the band who played on this record was called Deadboy and the Elelphant Man. Such a classic and very happy to have it on vinyl now. Favorite track: Like the Dead Would Laugh.

    Richard Erickson thumbnail
Richard Erickson I love this material from the early 2000's, and you really don't hear it anymore. It is a few well chosen and thoroughly explored frequencies with few embellishments. Call it a stripped down sound if you'd like.
    albinobone thumbnail
albinobone For this album, Richard Chartier, puts a microphone in outer space and leaves it there for fifty minutes.

You listen to the whole thing and forget who you are until your three year old wakes up the next morning, asks why you're on the couch with yesterday's clothes on and tells you to make breakfast. Favorite track: Removed 1.

spiderweb This is an incredible album: ecstatic, vigorous, and joyful. Favorite track: Tenet.
    petersohn thumbnail
petersohn Probably the best Heilung album yet. Besides the usual Nordic stuff, we get to see ancient Rome and the even more ancient Mesopotamia. Favorite track: Tenet.
    starthief thumbnail
starthief So many great songs here, it's tricky to pick one favorite. This is probably the most beautiful Heilung album overall. Favorite track: Tenet.

vox_ritualis Essential chapter in the Hortobagyi-an canon. All tracks here are standouts but I have a soft spot for the soulful elegy of Türkismet (aka Geetatürk), which introduces an evocative eastern chant that feels like a call to compassion & to assuage all human misery on this Earth but ends in a suspenseful, apocalyptic tone. Favorite track: Türkismet (Vivat at floreat Fatum).
