joanofarch They simply know how to write sings that combine amazing, heavy riffs with harmonies full of tension and atmospheric elements. And they craft buildups that get your heartrate up like nothing else.
Some of the songs feel inspired by bands like Haken with complex rhythmicality. I love everything about that album. Favorite track: Sight Unseen.

Holger Rudolph Awesome album. I wasn't sure, if Elder would return to the incredible song writing of the past AND keep getting more progressive. Well, they did. Favorite track: Strata.

batfliesonsong Came for the band name and aesthetics, stayed for the music! I very much intend to play this on my way to the Mothman Festival. Favorite track: Squonk Kingdom.

This band scratches so many itches for me. The early work sounds very mastodon, while the newer stuff is more reminiscent of Between the Buried and Me, both two of my favorites. There’s even a little Mutoid Man vibes in there too, but it’s been cool to listen to the musical evolution and diversity across their releases. I’m a huge cryptid guy, so finding a band that embraces those fearsome creatures was super exciting! Favorite track: Squonk Kingdom.

Darknight Wicked wicked album! Total glorious downtuned doomy metal that slowly invades your soul with majestic sludginess. Asexual Anger is a doom sludgy masterpiece. Favorite track: Black Mountain.
