Gutted bout the time that got away
Anxiety was ripping at the light inside of me.

  2. The Twilight Mirage: Friends At The Table Soundtrack, Season Four
    by Jack de Quidt
    supported by
    stormfet thumbnail
stormfet This album is alive, breathing with leitmotifs and themes and memories and moments from the games that I absolutely adore. Even without listening to the season this is an impeccable album and I recommend it to all of my scifi loving friends. Our Flaws is basically an unforgettable track, but also The Doyenne Describes the Canvas, Mr. Magnificent and Falling Asleep are all standouts as well. Favorite track: Our Flaws In A Vacuum, or The Promise We Made To Each Other.
    apotheosys thumbnail
apotheosys Twilight Mirage is maybe my favorite of Jack de Quidt's compositions for Friends at the Table. Its ambient digital soundscaps so perfectly capture the alternating spaces of refuge and drama in the epic story of that incredible season. Every time I listen to "The Twilight Mirage" or "The Notion" -- the opening themes to the first- and second-halves of the arc -- I am swept away with memories of the hopeful, utopian fleet this group of storytellers (including the composer) created. Favorite track: The Notion.
    hazelforgotten thumbnail
hazelforgotten I sprinkle songs from this soundtrack across playlists as gifts to myself, like a shelter from the rain. Favorite track: 800 Years.

    hershelroswell thumbnail
hershelroswell I experienced my first significant bereavement this year (a beloved childhood dog), and listening to Hieron has helped me confront my grief both before and after his passing. Thank you to all the Friends - and especially to Jack, who is truly in fine form in this album (Tell Me instantly makes me well up) - for creating such a beautiful story. Favorite track: Under the Boughs.
    ill-omens thumbnail
ill-omens Been giving a relisten to all their music lately casually, as I try to aslo catch up on road to palisade and finally start palisade and...just on this alone and really giving time to the music and the memory of the scene, and the music is such a key in how they all bring to life such beautiful and tragic characters. special mention to Tell Me for being exactly that. A god more human than divine, going to his death for the sake of his son and how i get a little teary listening to it. Favorite track: Tell Me.

    vincentavatar thumbnail
vincentavatar This album, much like the previous one, just manages to capture a lot of the experience of being a walking disaster of a person, but maybe one who might be learning to deal with that fact for a change.

Trust Me is a hell of a track; it's always nice to be reminded now and again that I need I need I need I need help.
    Paul thumbnail
Paul came across this band on TikTok, and just HAD to buy the album to hear more from them. awesome sound, meaningful lyrics and I can't stop listening. here's hoping they tour Australia soon!
    Hank Biscuits, LLC thumbnail
Hank Biscuits, LLC I’m so used to coming in last…Ain’t that the truth. This album doesn’t come in last, oh hell no. Inspired puck rock that speaks strongly to my deeply flawed booze soaked soul. Buy it. You won’t be sorry.

    Brian Wardlaw thumbnail
Brian Wardlaw The composition of all the tracks are extremely thought out and executed perfectly especially the ones that incorporate two tunes. The track i feel shows this is at their best is June's Garden/Pockets. Favorite track: June's Garden / Pockets.
    andpersand thumbnail
andpersand Just the most fun. Every set is one I want to sit down and learn, and they play with so much ENERGY and STYLE. Crunchy, tangible sound. I'll never get tired of listening to Kinnaris Quintet play. Favorite track: Gortavale Rock / The Road to Poynton.
    gripraven thumbnail
gripraven Kinnaris Quintet alternates wonderfully between sweet warmth and rapturous joy. They accomplish what all good folk music aims at. It's very difficult to make an instrumental album of this length not start to all sound the same, but every track on Free One is so well constructed as to be chapters of a moving story, finally deeply satisfied by the conclusion of the title track. By jolts and false starts it alludes to brokenness without drowning in it. It's full of a realism that sees the ugliness of the real world and yet chooses joy, and this to me is what it truly means to be free. Favorite track: Saltspring Overture / Saltspring.

vincentavatar Found this album at a time I was in the habit of having a bad dream about you and me. It's great, the song's great, the band's great, corn dogs are probably mid at best. Favorite track: Corn Dog Sonnet No 7.
    Shade thumbnail
Shade I cannot stop listening to this album & it has rocketed up to one of my all time favorites. The raw emotion & sincerity in every song really shines. Favorite track: Overbite.
    Ford Dent thumbnail
Ford Dent Look I vibe with Corn Dog Sonnet no 7 on a level that is actually unobservable by scientific equipment, no matter how sensitive it is. Helped me get through some rough times, honestly.

Also the whole album rules extremely hard. You start with Corn Dog Sonnet and just continue from there. It's bangers all the way down, there is no bottom, there are just poppy punky delights. Favorite track: Corn Dog Sonnet No 7.

    thewanderingmage thumbnail
thewanderingmage The quality of any good soundtrack is in its ability to generate a mood and soundscape for the listener that translates to a visual and emotional language that populates directly inside the mind. Jack de Quidt's Realis captures a deep, a resonant, a primeval connection that thrills your mind with sheer potential. Stories that might be told on a winter's eve, half a tankard deep into a nutty ale as the fire burns low, leap into being as the music progresses. Favorite track: Realis.
