    David Rankin thumbnail
David Rankin The thing that strikes me about this music is how soothing it is and stimulates the parts that other music doesn't get near. There's such a fresh airy feeling in the recordings that make Raphael's work so singularly special.I can't recommend this guy's music projects enough.Looking forward to more next year. Favorite track: Grand Central.
    lionvalley thumbnail
lionvalley Very happy to see this mesmerizing album is to be available again. "Plays John Coltrane" sounds like a brazen title, but these tracks are transformative and masterful. And the two original compositions for the Hughes poems (hauntingly sung by Przybysz) aren't bonuses, they're highlights. Mournfully affirmative. Favorite track: Blue Train.

    T. Super The music is genius. The main melody perfectly balanced/made more complex, interesting by the underlying counter-melody. My favorite song will surely change again and again, love them all. Favorite track: The Old Times Came to My Mind (ትዝ አለኝ የጥንቱ).

    alleydriver thumbnail
alleydriver Even though it was the guitar nerds that got me into this album, and for good reason the guitarwork is amazing! This album has filled the niche of spacey music that has enough of a beat that I don't tune out like I do with most "background music".

Singing along to this while delivering pizzas is a special joy and I love this album for its layers. Favorite track: How many miles.
    ismamjz thumbnail
ismamjz cawn... no existe nada igual, el sonido lleno de texturas, lleno de distorsión. el final del arcoíris esta aquí
te amo mkgee Favorite track: DNM.
    westonrhunter thumbnail
westonrhunter Soft and poignant on many, up tempo and danceable on a few. A seemingly brand new sound.

The guitar solo on "How many miles" is spiritual and gets me every time.

One of my favorite albums that I've listened to in many years. Favorite track: How many miles.
