cee_ It's that kind of metal that's epic and sweeping and takes you on a journey. The Aussie sound is so naturally laced throughout, it fits perfectly

Reminds me I'm part of a world that is vast and ancient and wonderous

This is one of those rare albums I dig from start to finish, too. Every song has a uniqueness that fits into the whole. The quality of the music here is above-and-beyond

I've been playing "Tide In, Mind Out" for over 20 years in playlists, now. This album is value. Favorite track: Tide In, Mind Out.
    Rabbit thumbnail
Rabbit Dude, where were Alchemist when I was trying to find a worthwhile Aussie metal band? I had written off Aussie metal long ago for their dozens of terrible boy bands and third-rate imitators of better bands overseas. But what should I expect from America-lite? Originality sure weren't it.
Then here comes Alchemist sounding unlike anything I heard before and distinctly more Aussie too! If I could try to describe them: imagine a brawny mashup of Killing Joke/Voivod and they came from the Outback. Favorite track: Tide In, Mind Out.
    Michael thumbnail
Michael Great CD. Cant wait to get the others. Favorite track: New Beginning.

    plasmablaster thumbnail
plasmablaster What can I say. Mr Benet forcibly dragged me in his world of relentless groove, retro funk beats and just won't let me out. And make no mistake - the music is way more sophisticated than it initially looks. It's all masterfully made. Favorite track: Girl of My Dreams.
    cosmoset thumbnail
cosmoset Nobody beats The Don Favorite track: Mr Experience.
    typo989 thumbnail
typo989 I feel like this was written about me, but a lot more funkier. Favorite track: Second Dinner.

Landon Pool I mostly just chill out when I listen to music, and I am not into dancing, but this record gets me jumping up and moving like no other album in my collection. For me, it's like a shot of pure synthwave audio energy right in my veins. Favorite track: 1988 Girls.
    Viktor Forsberg thumbnail
Viktor Forsberg ☆ what made me buy this I'll never know (probably drugs) but it's awesome and I'll keep 6/13 tracks. Favorite track: Transformers.
    David Rotenburger thumbnail
David Rotenburger One of the synthwave artists that introduced me to the genre and still one of the best! This album is loads of fun and brings back the best of memories! Favorite track: Transformers.

    Modern Day Mosaic thumbnail
Modern Day Mosaic A masterpiece plain and simple. It still amazes me that these tunes from the tail end of the 80's, could be so important and influential even today. Taking the brutal, pounding industrial influence of Skinny Puppy and Ministry, wrapping it in pop song structures with some added sexy flair... There's a reason why Trent Reznor is on the mainstage of industrial music and in the record collections of many around the world. Favorite track: Terrible Lie.
    Dalton thumbnail
Dalton I have literally many copies of this album. Never enough. Was time for a digital copy Favorite track: Sin.
    apocalypsedud thumbnail
apocalypsedud It took me a REALLY long freaking time to get used to this album, and to get into the songs outside of the big hits. But the progression was worth all those listens over the years. What else can I say? It's a masterpiece. The remaster is a nice effort that breathes some new life into a classic that didn't need it. Favorite track: Ringfinger.

Alice M. Maybe I’m weird, but this kind of stuff is what it takes to make me want to dance. Full of intriguing sounds and engaging rhythms.

Brad Christenson Because hail Satan, that's why! Favorite track: Satanized.
    unbentsuperpyro thumbnail
unbentsuperpyro My closest friend introduced me to this song and it's significance as a song about Mortal Sin and their personal struggle with that concept. Favorite track: Satanized.
    joythroughdeath thumbnail
joythroughdeath Skeletá and Impera both suffer from the same issue: they’re one-note, bland, and so buried in 80s metal worship that nothing truly stands out. These two albums even make Prequelle look like S-tier material, and it clearly isn’t. Tobias has lost the plot and cashed in; Ghost has shifted from being a band with personality to a hollow institution. The sinister edge is gone, the uniqueness stripped away, and what’s left is little more than redundant drivel.
