    Antithetical I love these synth sounds, and Brendan's voice sounds wonderful here. Overall the sound reminds me of Brendan's second solo alb, Ark. The lyrics have taken a dark turn but revisit themes found in "Song of the Dispossessed."

    THEKILLINGSPREE I found this album to be similar to some of Anna von Hausswolff's music, only to find out right after that Mütterlein released this album a few years before. "Orphans of the Black Sun" introduces us to a story of a descent into madness and darkness, guided by a vengeful spirit in the cursed voice of Marion. More folk and melodic than their two successors, but by no means better or worse than any of them. Mütterlein hits differently, with this one, with a raw, haunting, dark magic power. Favorite track: Lesbians Whores And Witches.
