  1. Speaking to the Body

GeN2Mo Maybe I'm exaggerating, yet this is the first album for me in ages that exudes this "Left To Our Own Devices"-feel. This proficiency at replicating late 80s Pop in combination with sincerity and urgency that results in songs that aren't just excelent retrowave but also probably some of the best synthpop you can listen to, full stop.
    c5 thumbnail
c5 I'd been looking forward to this album and it's exceeded my expectations. Favorite track: Perpetual Care.
    Discordia thumbnail
Discordia Masterful throwback to 1983. Talk Talk meets Toni Basil in a dark alley. Favorite track: One Star One Body.

    rfmelnbardis thumbnail
rfmelnbardis A sonic joy from first note to last, with sweeping guitars, melismatic vocals and driving rhythms. Carousel makes me want to run away and start a dreampop band. Favorite track: Carousel.
    Fabio Viola thumbnail
Fabio Viola Stunning! The first four songs in sequence are exhilarating. The production is spot on and puts Hatchie's voice right where it can shine. All the instruments are crystal clear but still hazy like the album's sonic references require. Great compositions too, I feel that compared to Hatchie's previous efforts this collection exudes confidence.
For my taste this is AOTY material. Favorite track: Carousel.

pardero This reminds me of my boyhood, when I had a mad crush on Olivia Newton-John. 🎵If you love me, let me know, if you don't, then let me go🎶 "Sugar and Spice" popped up, first, on a moody dream pop Pandora station, though "Bad Guy" fits that station even better. I was surprised how much I enjoyed these charming Abba-esque/Top 40 type confections, and perhaps my Pandora station is far more interesting when it goes from I Break Horses' "Death Engine" to "Sugar and Spice." Favorite track: Bad Guy.
    Camilo Boudreaux thumbnail
Camilo Boudreaux I love her voice and the music is fantastic 🌷🎶🎧

exquisite album 👌 Favorite track: Try.
    Ashton Richards thumbnail
Ashton Richards If a cartoon character were to listen to this album, their eyes would turn into hearts and/or hearts would flutter above their head. This may or may not have happened to me when I first heard it. Favorite track: Sleep.

    Will Mowass thumbnail
Will Mowass just when you think you've heard too much music inspired by the 80s, Glass Spells renews your interest with some of the most upbeat dark moods with a spider web silky voice and bouncy cyberpunk synths. Favorite track: Venom.
    Thommy Webb thumbnail
Thommy Webb Glass Spells is an awesome newish synthpop duo (when playing live, and they're awesome live, they're a trio with the added acoustic drummer). They have a sound that is both fresh and makes obvious nods to the 80s with spooky lyrics.
