leshy Emotionally textured and beyond heavy- so heavy it’s oddly gentle. Favorite track: Consumed.

    by SUMAC
    supported by
    Sam thumbnail
Sam Being in the same room as these guys while they play was fucking amazing, so much talent and wonderful noise. I love other projects by each member but this album feels like each's best work, respectfully. Favorite track: Yellow Dawn.
    Urso X thumbnail
Urso X I've spent days listening and trying to come up with a coherent and original review for this stunning album, but I seem to be at a loss for words (a rarity for me). The most cogent thing I can say that hasn't already been said is that SUMAC's musical evolution and sprawling, semi-improvisational style strongly calls to mind a metal version of the critically acclaimed late 8os/early 90s post-rock pioneers Talk Talk. Singular artists, uncompromising vision, every album a masterpiece. Transcendent! Favorite track: Yellow Dawn.
    chandlerhank thumbnail
chandlerhank This album is a 10/10 all the way through, defining the dotted line of experimental. Favorite track: The Stone's Turn.

    Dlshfie0w thumbnail
Dlshfie0w an album I didn't realize I needed Favorite track: Seething and Scattered.
    Dududil thumbnail
Dududil The titans of sludge metal is back. This might well be their best work yet. Heavy, massive, and at times hypnotic. This is the album to hold onto in these desperate times. Favorite track: First Red Rays.
    Michael Carter thumbnail
Michael Carter This feels like a new beginning, forget about everything, just focus on this....passion and honesty, bare your soul....ignore ridicule, or tags that try to define you.....a portrait of a world....what's next?

  4. Body Collaborations
    by The Body & Thou
    supported by
    øko thumbnail
    øko —DISCLAIMER— this release compiles:
“Released from Love” + “You, Whom I Have Always Hated” :)
    everythingryan thumbnail
everythingryan Such a fertile period for both bands, the collision of which is so pummeling it almost can't be captured in a recording. Great supplement to the 'You, Whom I Have Always Hated' vinyl. Favorite track: Her Strongholds Unvanquishable.
    Nocturnal Egg (Jordan) thumbnail
Favorite track: Manifest Alchemy.

  5. Heathen
    by Thou
    supported by
    seanmcg_ thumbnail
seanmcg_ One of the most beautiful, heaviest metal albums I've ever heard. Thou are one of the best doom/sludge bands ever. Top 5 metal album for me rn Favorite track: Ode to Physical Pain.
    Ezra thumbnail
Ezra With this release Thou steps up their melodic parts and makes them unbearably beautiful. The songs aren’t only extremely sludgy, they’re also gorgeous now and I’m here for it. Favorite track: At the Foot of Mt. Drisskill.
    Harold N’Hiver thumbnail
Harold N’Hiver The lyrics on this record are absolutely phenomenal. Read them as you listen. Take them to heart.

Pairs well with the “Our Enemy Civilization” split with Salome, particularly with the track “The Song of Illuminate Darkness.”

    swordpvnk thumbnail
swordpvnk This is Archspire's best offering to date. Which is high praise considering Bleed the Future was a masterpiece. These guys don't take themselves too seriously and they have every reason too considering the sheer talent exuding from every single one of them. This i think is their best quality as a band. Inhuman musical ability, paired with extremely down to earth human personalities. Never stop making music you crazy bastards.
    minusoneman2 thumbnail
minusoneman2 Archspire is always hell of fun! Especially with this new effort. Imagine highly melodic Blasting Symphonic (death) metal accompanied by a zombified ghost of the mighty scatman John in a really angry and pissed mood. Favorite track: Anomalous Descent.
    3fireterrell thumbnail
3fireterrell Everything about this album is perfect. From the instrumentals to the vocals, all the songs pack a punch!!! Favorite track: Limb of Leviticus.

    KensWorldRecords thumbnail
KensWorldRecords Good quality pressing. No surface noise what so ever. Only issue is the resealable outer sleeve they come in. Took 5 minutes to remove and impossible to put back on. The resealable sticker line on these sleeves are on the flap, yes the flap end. I would not care if it was not for the hype sticker in on these sleeves.
    the metal psychotherapist thumbnail
the metal psychotherapist Psychedelic-rock infused post-metal. Hypnotic, layers of sounds and emotions, complex and dense, surprising and familiar all at once. Favorite track: Threshold Of Transformation.
    Eric McQueen thumbnail
Eric McQueen The dynamic of this album is all that you can dream of. A gem among rocks. Favorite track: Hand Of The Host.
