digital graveyard i found this album in winter 2018-19 when i was 20 working at a ski resort in colorado. it was the first time i lived somewhere weed was legal. the bus stop was 2 degrees at 6am. this album was blasting in my $9 headphones at all times. snowboarding with this on was better than sex. i can still listen to it on repeat for weeks. Favorite track: Saturday.
    tvlez thumbnail
tvlez This album came out a while ago so this comment may be long overdue but now that I'm using bandcamp a little more I feel like it's worth leaving a comment about it. This is one of my favorite albums of all time, definitely one of my favorite albums of the 2010s, and it deserves all the love in the world. Favorite track: Get Bummed Out.

    Carsten Pieper thumbnail
Carsten Pieper Cuzco from North Carolina label themselves as "instrumental math rock". Doesn't that sound cold? However, in my ears these "sketches" sound astonishingly warm. The band draws from a rich sonic palette. Fine album! Favorite track: Metropolis.
    SuddenLiberation thumbnail
SuddenLiberation Called a "sketchbook", but definitely sounding more like a concept album with its adorable tunes and engaging composition, which seem to be telling a compelling story rather than being a collection of assorted sketches. Favorite track: Updated Dad.
    ethancave thumbnail
ethancave The horns and slow moving chords, envelop you in the world of Cuzco, with math licks and riffs that are a tattoo in your brain. Favorite track: Sketch Three.

    piramis thumbnail
piramis Not a skippable track, a cultural milestone, absolutely essential and sublime, an evergreen, the lighttower during a storm at sea, a breath of fresh air. If you don't like this we can't be friends. Reminds me of the general mood of a Murakami book. Favorite track: グッドバイ (Album Version).
    jacobkarrer thumbnail
jacobkarrer I love toe! Favorite track: ラストナイト (Album Version).
    neiros19 thumbnail

    kevinhandran thumbnail
kevinhandran Love it. Comes from the heart & soul of the artist. Really enjoyable through head phones. Thank You Shakey Graves for creating it. Favorite track: On My Own.
    peakmoment thumbnail
peakmoment This style of songs is what's up. Can't get enough of the sound. Great songs and the recordings lend themselves well to the material. That 424 on the cover art makes me happy.

He nailed it, I Was Once an Ocean is exactly what I imagine a desert remembering its past aquatic life sounds like.

Fondness Etc. joins Roll The Bones and The Horse He Rode In On as perfect albums for a hardworking Texan who once overindulged on psychedelia and now desperately wants to relax. Favorite track: The Boilermaker.
